Imagine you owned a giant warehouse and could create anything you wanted with it? That is roughly what happened to the Arts District in Los Angeles. Full of immersive art, unusual shops, restaurants and activities; as well as some of the most beautiful breweries in LA; if you spend a night out here and don't have fun the problem is you.

I was going to sort each location into categories; but half of the fun of the Arts District is the hybridization. Breweries and distilleries are also playgrounds; restaurants; immersive art and galleries and galleries contain restaurants, shops and games. It can boggle the mind; so instead I will make two separate posts; one for South of 4th street; and the other for the main drag.

The first picture is the robot bartender at Two Bit Circus "Gearmo Del Pouro". When I first visited he made me a free drink that was actually quite delicious.

Two Bit Circus is what is called a "Micro-Amusement Park." I think it might be the first of it's kind; or at least the first to use the name. It utilizes modern technologies to create fascinating games and activities for the whole families; from 3D story rooms to midway games that combine 3d and computer technology with tactile componenets. They also have a completely stocked arcade; a large room for massive game nights, and more.

It does not cost to enter; so it is painless to go in and and see what is on offer.

They even have a restaurant where you can order food and soak up the fun atmosphere.

If Two Bit Circus doesn't thrill you; no bother; there is so much within walking distance. (Just make sure you have a map or you will end up in Skid Row)

From relaxing places to drink like the Spirit Guild

Or eat; like the Zinc Cafe

Or Urth Cafe

A personal favorite nearby is The Resident an outdoor/indoor bar with a relaxing garden and food court.

I have also been impressed with The A=D Architecture Museum and their cutting edge exhibits. The last time I went they featured... IMG_20180120_145734663.jpgA humorous pop-up that concentrates on Great Failures of modern civilization.

Some might say they had a bit of a bias. (In the Art's District? Who would guess?)

Other places I have enjoyed within walking distance Are: "The Art's District Co-op", "Pizzanesta" and "Artist and Craftsman Supply" There is so much more however; looking at the map now I see a climbing wall and gun club in the same building across the street form the Spirit Guild. I see the "Institute of Contemporary Art" "The Animal Museum" and a Lily Wang shop; and all this is south of 4th street.

A few places nearby that I want to visit are ;
Wisdome A gigantic immersive art entertainment park.
Lost Spirits Distellery Often described described as the
"Willy Wonka" of booze tour it is 46 dollars for a 2 hour tour through a magical land of Rum and Brandy as well as 4 drinks; that number of cocktails runs up more than that so good deal; but reservations are required and it sells out quickly.
Row DTLA Is a gigantic 30acre shopping/dining destination that recently opened; but it is south of where I usually go in the arts district so I have not been yet.

OK you would think I would be done; but this is just the southern part of the Arts District. I have many more pictures of locations above 4th street; because I do not visit below that area when I am alone. Perhaps when I get to know it better when I feel more comfortable; but the there are sections of the Art's District that are not well lit at night and that is usually when I go.

Here are a few more pictures before I go.IMG_20190323_185005878.jpg

That would be a dream come true! First thing on the list would be our own gallery. This place looks amazing.

Expensive; but people often form collectives and purchase or rent as a group.
