21km of pain for a beautiful sunset.. Day #2 of my backpacking trip through Sweden

in #travel6 years ago

Hej, hej, hej, get ready for the second part of my #backpacking adventure in #Sweden!

Day #2

This was the first thing I saw when I opened the tent after the rather depressing first night of our backpacking trip (if you haven't read the introduction post of this trip you can find it here.

Luckily, the insides of my shoes were all dry, and the sunshine outside promised a beautiful day ahead. It was about 8 a.m. when we ate breakfast at the picknick tables near our tent.

Breakfast- that meant pre-packed cereal with powdered milk, which we had to mix with sparkly water.. It did not in any way taste like cereal with milk, more like cereal with expired milk..

Then we re-packed our backpacks and hit the road at 13:30 p.m. Literally one minute later we saw a sign leading to our walkway, which we had not seen the day before. The trail went through a forest and along the ocean. It was absolutely beautiful and everyone was super motivated.

#Beautiful views during our walk

We walked for a long time and - who would have guessed it would happen this quickly - met another German woman. At a supermarket in Viken (with burning feet) we bought rolls, cheese, apples and cinnamon rolls and ate them near a playground.

Then the walk continued.

So many #birds back there!

Even though our feet hurt like hell, we decided to walk to Strandbaden instead of Höganas, which would mean 21km in one day (starting near Sofiero). It was extremely painful, and in the end the only thing that helped was music.

But we made it!!

The windshelter we would sleep in that night. Comfy! ;)

Around 7 p.m., when we decided to go for a swim to wash our hair, it started to rain. The water felt soo cold but good. The ground was full of stones and algae though, so it was hard not to slip on our way out.

After that, we started "cooking" and put on as many layers as possible. My hair wouldn't dry. We ate our delicious dinner (note:sarcasm) by the #ocean.

Then we watched the stunning #sunset and were proud of our accomplishment for that day.

Sounds like an amazing adventure. :D And that first pic! What a huge juicy one! LOL :D
Btw, I hope your feet didn't suffer anything too serious!

Haha, it was painful for the time of the trip but they're fine now ;D
