Once upon a time there was a Buddha who is said to have left his tooth behind here in Sri Lanka.
Since then, this tooth has been considered to be very valuable and powerful. Those who own the tooth rule the land, according to ancient writings.

As a tourist, you are not allowed to see the tooth itself, but a replica has been made and the original is kept in a high-security wing. For ceremonies, only the replica of the tooth is used.

It is crazy and impressive at the same time as history has a great influence on people all over the world. No matter in which country of the world we are, every culture has its history and this is still remembered today.

The following pictures are from the dental temple in Kandy, when we visited it. Inside you can't photograph everything, so there are no pictures of the most important place, the shrine.

Has anyone ever been to the dental temple before? If so, then you will have noticed how many locals and pilgrims come there especially on weekends to worship the tooth and Buddha.

Es war einmal Buddha, der hier in Sri Lanka seinen Zahn zurück gelassen haben soll.
Seitdem her wird dieser Zahn als sehr wertvoll und mit viel Macht angesehen. Wer den Zahn besitzt, regiert das Land, heißt es in den alten Schriften.

Als Tourist darfst du den Zahn selbst nicht sehen, aber es wurde eine Nachbildung erstellt und das Original wird in einem Hochsicherheitstrakt verward. Bei Zeremonien wird immer nur die Nachbildung des Zahns verwendet.

Es ist schon verrückt und beeindruckend zugleich wie die Geschichte einen großen Einfluss auf die Menschen auf der ganzen Welt hat. Egal in welchem Land dieser Welt wir sind, jede Kultur hat ihre Geschichte und diese prägt sich bis heute ein.

Die folgenden Bilder sind vom Zahntempel aus Kandy, als wir dort einen Besuch gemacht haben. Innen darf man nicht alles fotografieren, deshalb gibt es vom wichtigsten Ort, dem Schrein keine Bilder.
