Mon voyage || Finest sand at Boracay Island, Philippines! ||

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Planning to go somewhere? Come and visit Boracay Island Philippines! If you love sun- bathing and tanning, this spot is perfect for you! Explore various activities, enjoy the white sand beach resort and try some local foods! Hotel and guesthouses are everywhere located from station 1 to station3, you can check at any booking or travel site. If you're looking for a budget hotel or guesthouse, check at station 3 area.

Boracay Island is located at Aklan province, western Visayas region of the Philippines. And it's one of the best tourist spot in the Philippines known as it's best powdery white sand. No wonder it surrounded with foreign and local tourist.

Let me show you some of our local destination with my husband last few years ago. To reach this island you need to take;
  • A plane from NAIA manila airport to Kalibo International Airport if your arrival is in NAIA.
  • Upon arrival at the airport, take a bus and tricycle which is the primary transporation in Boracay.

Activities you might want to explore:

  • helmet diving
  • scuba diving
  • windsurfing
  • snorkeling
  • kitesurfing

We tried helmet diving with admission fee of 700php per person, included the small boat ride back and fort in the diving area, with expert divers who will guide you and give some instructions, helmet diving equipment, free photos along with the recorded video in a cd and 15 minutes of diving. Divers will escort you underwater. It was great experienced seeing different fishes. The water is clear with the powdery white sand under the sea. You can feed them and feel the beauty of aquatic animals.

Here's our video underwater

If you want to try different local dishes, you can choose a lot of restaurant and even food chain like mcdonald's and etc. We tried some french and japanese restaurant along the beach and some local foods. The more you arrive earlier in the restaurant, the better! Too crowded, you might get hungry if you come late lol! Don't miss the seafood and the coconut juice! Best for summer like halo-halo in tagalog term or mix fruits with lechen flan and scrambled ice.

Are you a party people? No problem, you will enjoy some bars with live band, fire dancing or just strolling around the beach, watching the sunset while drinking your cold drinks! You can also check numbers of souvenir store in the area where you can choose different Filipino arts like painting, t-shirt and etc.

Best season to visit here is during end of March - April. You will really feel the heat of the sun, it's summer time in Philippines! When we got there, the temperature was 38 degrees. Perfect for people who loves to get tan! My husband really appreciated the place since finding some white sand here in France is far away from our city. A good proposal and attract all foreigners who wants to visit Philippines by guiding and taking them in a nice tourist spot like Boracay. Well, that's for now my fellow travelers!

Wow! Boracay has changed so much! When I was there 20 years ago it was just wooden huts along the beach! No hotels, no brick buildings.. there was almost nothing there.. it really felt like a world away!
I read somewhere that Duterte wants to close the island to foreign tourists.. I don't know if that is true and I hope he doesn't!

Wow! I'm glad you've been there too! Yes it's changed a lot, but I didn't heard about our Pres. said that he will not allowed foreigners to visit there, I don't know the real story heeheheh but Boracay had too much foreign tourist which help the economy too.. Hope it's not true hehehehe

They said it will be closed for the moment until the further notice...

Yeah I don't know .. I hope its just a temporary closure to let the island recover.. I hear its become more and more busy over the years.

Lol! Once lang Kami nkapunta dun sis, pag whale na tau sis visit some nice place in pinas hehehehe

Grabe 6months pala close ? Behind n ako s news s pinas lol!

This place looks beautiful. I think just to visit this one location it would be worth it to take the trip. It looks like you had a lot of fun on your trip there. What was the flight time between the two airports and what size plane was it? I am okay with jets, but little planes kind of scare me. :)

For the moment it will close until the further notice, as they say it takes 6months..

I think this island is closing down ?

That's what I've heard... Really don't know all the details why :)

Wow, I want to go here. But unfortunately, it will be temporarily closed for 6 months starting April 26, 2018. I hope I could visit here whenever it opens again.

Yan din sabi close daw pero di ko pa alam boung detalye, behind na s pinas news lol!

it will be temporarily closed for rehabilitation for 6 months starting April 26, 2018 :)
