Trips and Tips: my travel to Lipsi and its surrounding islands - III

One of the most interesting experiences you can have once you visit Lipsi is to take a day trip to the nearby small islands and swim in some of the most interesting beaches I have seen in Greece: blue, white, green, you name the color and you will see it emerging in these amazing waters..

If you arrive there by your own boat, then you can go by yourselves; otherwise the tourist boat Rena can take you on an 8 hour tour.

Our first stop was at Makronisi; just take a look at the geology of these rocks and the blue of the waters:

It is an amazing view, if you swim underneath this rock!

Our next stop was Aspronisia: two white rocks that offer the best waters you can think of:

Next stop: Tigania or Tiganakia (this means Frying Pans in Greek!); this beach was very popular, thus you will see a lot of boats in the photos:

The next stop was Marathi. There are a couple of taverns on the beach of Marathi.. we had a very nice meal in the one named Pantelis:

Marathi is populated by very few inhabitants during winter. During summer, you can have a really relaxing vacation, as there are some rentals you can exploit. Of course, bear in mind that there is nothing you can do on this island, apart from eating, swimming and sleeping.. no shops, no bars.. Just meditation..!

Our last stop was at the main island of another group of islands: Arkii; the main island of Arkii has somewhat like 50 inhabitants, i.e. is more populated than Marathi. I found out that the best tavern you can visit is Tripas.

We sat at the cafeteria on the left of Tripas and had a coffee and dessert: in this cafeteria, you can also buy interesting apparel!

This island was originally used as grassland for livestock of the bigger nearby islands such as Patmos.
