Batmanbiker Travels - Exploring unknown parts of beautiful western ghats with great friends in Images (Part 1)

in #travel7 years ago

I've a bit of love for the Western Ghats, and it would be quite evident from my previous posts on Steemit. I travel quite often there, but mostly it is to the places that I have already visited. But this time, I made a change of plan. I figured it was time to explore new places deep within the heart of the Western Ghats.

So, that was the plan. A bunch of us, great friends I've known for quite some time now, decided to ride to some lesser known locations and new places in the Western Ghats. I made the plan of course. There were 6 people on this adventure.

That is us! From left to right: Tejas, myself, Aishwarya, Ranjana, Jayanth and Prajwal.

We reached the Western Ghats at midday. It was time to take the road less explored.

The Western Ghats beckon us. The beauty of nature is amazing!

The smell of rain was fresh in the air.

The roads were bliss. There was no traffic on the road, except the six of us.

Once the forest started, everyone wanted to take pictures.

Sloping green valleys as far as the eye can see.

That is Ranjana. I am so proud of the way she tackled the difficult road through the forest!

I and Aishwarya. We make a great team on a lot of different things! :)

And this was where the fun began...

Let's go, shall we?

Prajwal splashes water around trying to make his way.

The end result of endless river crossings, broken forest roads and good adventure.

We reached Kemmangundi at around 4 in the evening, and after a much needed lunch, got our rooms for the night. But the day was not complete. Kemmangundi at night is magical. We went to the peak and enjoyed the solitude for quite some time before it became too cold to stay out any longer.

I hope you enjoyed this post on exploring the lesser known parts of the Western Ghats.
