Konnichiwa Geekies!

Today, I'll take you to Valencia's exquisite and majestic waterfalls. Valencia is a town that is half hour away from Dumaguete City. Two of Valencia's precious jewels are Casaroro Falls and Pulang Bato Falls. These two falls are equally stunning. Let me tell you my honest opinion about these two Waterfalls during our DIY trip.

How To Get There

From Dumaguete City, ride a jeepney bound for Valencia town. Jeepneys going to Valencia are located near the Dumaguete public market, you can just ask the locals for instructions. Fare going to Valencia is PHP 12 only. Alight at Valencia market, then from there habal-habal drivers can take you to the two falls. Please do practice your haggling skills because some of the drivers are overpricing. In our case, we managed to negotiate at a price of PHP 500 good for 2 persons. Our stops would be Casaroro Falls, Pulang Bato Falls, Tejero Adventure Park and Tierra Alta. Now, let's go hunt these falls!

Pulang Bato Falls

On top of our list is the Pulang Bato Falls. In contrary to most falls in the country , this falls doesn't play hard to get. It is around 40 minutes of motorcycle ride from the town proper of Valencia and if you aren’t into trekking, then this one's perfect for you.

On your way to the falls, you’ll be surprised to see and smell sulfuric steam coming out from the cracks of the mountain on the side of the road. Around 300 meters away from the steam, you’ll start seeing orange and red rocks in the small stream.

From the front desk / registration desk , you can already hear the gushing waters. After paying the entrance fee of PHP 50, you'll just have to walk for a few steps and you'll see the beauty of Pulang Bato falls. Pulang Bato is true to its name, red rocks surround the falls.

There are also cottages available and a snack bar, so you'll never get hungry in this place. The management also developed some areas and converted into pools. The pools are perfect for people who just want to chill and take a very cold dip.

Casaroro Falls

Casaroro Falls is a hard to get kind of waterfall. Unlike others, you'll need a bag of oxygen, determination and strong will to get there. This falls is for the adventure seekers. It is like a hidden treasure that is only meant for those who work hard to see it.

The falls' starting point of the trek is almost half an hour away from Valencia market. Once you get there , you'll have to pay PHP 10 for the entrance fee. Luckily, the habal - habal driver that we hired offered to be our tour guide. From there get ready for a very long hike. Before you get to see its beauty, you'll have to hike on 300+ steps (and going back )stairway going down and another 15-20 minute walk. Just a friendly tip, please pack light things only so you won't get tired easily on your trek.

While trekking towards the falls, you'll pass by unto small streams. The sound of rushing waters is so relaxing and the very cool breeze makes you wanna stay there forever.

The sight of the majestic waterfalls is very relaxing. It is exemplary. With it's height, it's like an angel would fall down and appear out of the waters. The trees encircling the falls complements the landscape. Such a breath taking view!

Hi dear. Sayang I was not able to travel here when I was in Negros. Huhu. Ganda ganda

Hi @gailbelga! You should go waterfalls hunting sa Negros. Hehehe It's a really nice place. Hindi pa masyadong exploited. And if you'll go to Casaroro falls, kailangan ng matinding warm up to avoid muscle cramps. Napainom ako ng Alaxan the next day. :D

This place looks really nice. Always love waterfalls

I've always been fascinated with waterfalls too. Check out my other blog for Mantayupan Falls in Barili, Southern Cebu here.

Thanks for reading anyway! :)

Somehow I enjoy the waterfalls I have to work hard for more. Okay, any waterfall will do! I'd love to take a dip in those ones!

Hey! Thanks for checking out! You should try to visit the Philippines. There are actually lots of waterfalls here and the cost of living here is quiet affordable compared to other asian countries. I've also posted another waterfall adventure here

I'm coming soon actually 😊. Checking out the post; I live for waterfalls!

Whoaaah that's great! I'm actually going to Camiguin this January. I'll make sure to post our waterfall adventures there. Oh, add up Iligan City on you bucket list. The majestic Maria Cristina Falls is really heavenly, the waters look so white and the gushing sound is sooo relaxing. Tho, swimming is not allowed in the area but still there are lots of waterfalls in Iligan. If you need some suggestions, just ping me. :)

Awesome. I'm following you. Hope you get to post most of your adventures in your beautiful country 😊

Yay thanks! Followed you too. I'm really planning to post all my adventures here. Hope you get to enjoy our beautiful country when you get here. Ciao!
