Vienna snapped

After getting up at 4 am after three hours sleep, I was looking forward to having a nap once I got to the hotel before I started working. However, it wasn't to be as the room wasn't ready when I arrived. Last time I stayed here I was able to get it much earlier than the 3pm checkin time, but instead today I checked my bag and was "forced" to go out for a walk.

First stop in Vienna was a little Christmas market one of my friends recommended checking out and of course, I had to have a nip of glühwein. I am not much of a market kind of person, but I quite enjoyed the mulled wine as well as one or two of the pastries that were on offer.

Since I had time to kill, I also went and found the surprise present for @smallsteps and managed to fulfill the "fox" theme she prompted, and picked up a Christmas present for my wife also. I am not sure she is going to like it and while it is the thought that counts (bullshit) she can be pretty fussy with some things.

The next few shots are from the Christmas market at night (as well as a second one) which I went back for once it got dark.

I also found this fellow in one of the display windows in a place conveniently called, "The Bitcoin Store", where you can buy from an ATM style machine. I wonder if it gets much business. There was no one in the store I could see.

The next few are some random pictures I took while on my walks around the place between cafes, chops and places I could do some work.

The lights of the city are quite pretty, but not as good as they were in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago on average. In Amsterdam there was a lot of little out of the way decorations, here they are large and a bit garish.

Oh, and I got told off for patting this horse's nose. I understand the drivers not wanting every random stranger touching them though as that can be very confusing for the horse.

I am pretty well broken at the moment, but my colleagues are coming in at 7 or so and then we are meant to be heading to dinner. I am not sure if I will make it out, as I would love to just have a shower and hit the sack.

I did say that I walked today.

And this is the room for the evening. It is an executive suite booked by the client and has a free minibar and is almost the size of my apartment at home.

Perhaps I could squeeze in a disco nap.

Tomorrow, I am training all day and then heading straight to the airport from the client, which means I do not know when I am going to be able to get any writing done. Perhaps on the train or at the airport. I won't get into my home city until after midnight and must be up at 6 eith smallsteps - which means these are going to be some very long days.

As long as the training goes well tomorrow, I don't mind.
