Everything you said is SO true. I don't mean this to be a sweeping overgeneralization, but the idiocracy in the US is astonishing sometimes. I understand some instances where laws/regulations help keep people safer but cheese and rice...do we really need to tell people to take the plastic off of a pizza before putting it in the oven?? Lol

Upon climbing up to El Faro (the lighthouse in Mazatlan) there were a few precarious parts with steep steps and no railings as well. Perhaps when you don't "baby" people they take more responsibility for safety and implement that oh-so-rare common sense trait. ;)

It's actually kind of refreshing.
