After a delightful night in a comfy Airbnb in Hermosillo, Mexico, it's off to our next destination: Guaymas! We are especially excited to go to this city for two big reasons:

  1. We've been spending a LOT of time in the car the past few days. Seriously. I'm sure you're just as ready for another video background than the seats of our tangerine Prius.
  2. And, for the first time since being in the country, we get to enjoy the beach! Son of a beach, YASS!

Plus, it's going to be Laska's VERY FIRST TIME at the beach—ever! Just wait until you see her reaction when she runs into the ocean for the first time—priceless!

In our video today...

We share some interesting experiences about stoplight performers, strange booby-trapped hot sauce bottles, our first trip to a Mexican grocery store, and our perspective on driving in Mexico with a dog.

Up Next on our Tangerine Travels...

Laska's first time at the beach and "tiny crab hands" in Guaymas.

Very interesting to enjoy the trip with a dog.
That is a remarkable thing

Very nice trip report and what an amazing decision you have made!

Thanks, we're both really excited for it!

Unfortunately, it means that the next time you're in Vegas, it won't be so easy for us to meet you there.

That dog is a star!

She's certainly more photogenic than we are, that's for sure. ;)

Good info! My girlfriend and I will be headed down to Mexico soon--with 2 dogs--we will be in a camper van, but will stay at b&b's occasionally.

Glad you found it useful! Where will you and the pups be driving from?

We're in northern Ca, I think the plan is to drive through Baja and then ferry over.

Love the hot sauce anecdote - one of the most amusing things when we travel is finding things that would never exist in the US because of law suits. In Europe, there are all kind of cliffs you can walk along with no railing and tons of people all over the place...There are these wild playground in France that look like giant 20' tall spider webs and all I can think of is how many bones a kid would break on the way down if they fell. But personal responsibility is more of a thing in many other countries. People are expected to use a minimum of common sense ;-) It's actually kind of refreshing...
be careful out there!

Everything you said is SO true. I don't mean this to be a sweeping overgeneralization, but the idiocracy in the US is astonishing sometimes. I understand some instances where laws/regulations help keep people safer but cheese and rice...do we really need to tell people to take the plastic off of a pizza before putting it in the oven?? Lol

Upon climbing up to El Faro (the lighthouse in Mazatlan) there were a few precarious parts with steep steps and no railings as well. Perhaps when you don't "baby" people they take more responsibility for safety and implement that oh-so-rare common sense trait. ;)

It's actually kind of refreshing.

AGREED. Thanks so much for your comment!

Those bus conditions sound mad for any dog, but ESPECIALLY a husky- glad you guys are driving and can keep Laska cool and comfortable <3 Cant wait for the beach post!

Surprisingly, huskies are more well-equipped for hot conditions because of their insulated coat, but no dog is fit for the cargo area of a bus! Can't believe that's even an option.

The Guaymas beach post up if you're interested. :) https://steemit.com/travel/@tangerinetravels/our-adventures-continue-with-spectacular-beaches-and-delicious-seafood-in-guaymas-mexico-video

thanks boo! <3

Interesting again...Glad all is going well for you so far.

Thanks! We haven't run into any major problems yet.
