Our First Time EVER at a Movie Theater in Mexico!

in #travel6 years ago

In the US, we absolutely loved seeing movies in the theater. We even got ourselves a monthly subscription to MoviePass to see unlimited flicks each month for $9.99. Since coming to Mexico at the end of January though, we hadn't been to a single one. With everything else we were trying to figure out, going to the movies was the last thing we thought about.

"Are all the movies going to be in Spanish?"

Do they even have movie theaters in Mexico? Silly thought, we know. But it's one of the many uncertainties and questions we had about the whole experience.

After getting a bunch of recommendations from our YouTube subscribers, we decided to head to the cinema and see what a movie theater in Mexico is really like. In this video, we share:

  • Prices of tickets/concessions,
  • What to expect at the movies in Mexico, and
  • How a Mexican theater compares to ones in the US.

Greetings, tangerine

Well cool this trip they made to Mexico. What motivated them to go?

I imagine it to be a good difference between an American and a Mexican cinema, both in relation to the structure and the films themselves. Mexico has a reputation for making films that have more dramatic content than most other countries. Is it right or is it just common sense ??

I would like to have this opportunity to know Mexico and to be able to go to this cinema that you spoke to verify the differences between here and other countries.

Thank you and good afternoon!

mexico looks really interesting

Your movie vedio is very nice. Thanks your post @tangerinetravels.

Thank you. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video!

Ich würde gerne mal nach Mexiko fahren, obwohl das Bild in den deutschen Medien Mexiko als gefährlich und brutal zeigt.
Ich denke die Mexikaner sind ein nettes Volk.

That mall is huge! Great video, as always. Kind of unrelated question but has it been difficult finding places to stay with your dog? I'm asking because I have two pups and am thinking of traveling soon. So glad you had a good movie experience. I haven't been able to see Ready Player One yet but I can't wait to see it soon! I read the book and loved it :)

With Airbnb, not at all. In fact it has been pretty easy. It limits our options but we still always have at least some options.

We both thought the movie was great but to be honest, I had no idea it was a book😬

I haven't used Airbnb too much yet but appreciate the advice, you are awesome! Yea Ready Player One started as a one off book by an unknown author that gathered kind of a cult following. It's pretty good if you like to read.

Your first time isn't bad, is it? At least the popcorn is actually much, with lesser price, even though you pointed out to some part being dubbed. This place is huge, really massive. It's good for tour even hahahahh.

Laska and her antics. I love that dog.

You have gone past the 500 mark yaaaaay!. So, how are we celebrating? Congratulations to you both. This is impressive, way before the deadline. Now, unto 1,000. Well done.

It was a good experience! The movie was in English so it was easy to follow. Having Spanish subtitles allowed us to learn some Spanish during the movie too!

It was pretty large - a couple of escalators within the theater itself. Almost at 600 now. Eek we’re getting excited!

I am equally getting excited for you both, because i know the efforts you guys put into all of this. The amazing efforts behind the scenes and all. It is duly deserved and many more to come. It keeps getting better. Thanks for all you do.

I enjoy watching movies in the theatre most especially with my babe

Thanks for watching :) We enjoy the experience a lot!

just for you to know brothe Cinepolis is the 2nd largest cinema company around the world, its a first class cinema and its expanding. Son you can be sure that we have cinemas in Mexico, hope you can travel more around the country so you can know more about. Regards!!

Thanks for the info, it was a really nice theater! We've had so many people recommending that we try their VIP experience, so we'll be doing that next!

We've been to quite a few cities around Mexico over the past 2 and a half months but it never really crossed our minds to check them out until our YouTube subscribers started recommending them.

Welcome to Steem, hope you enjoy it here!
