Japan - Tokyo - Okinawa | My travel report: Okinawa - The journey, Motobu Village, the beach and the sunsets

in #travel6 years ago

Hallo Steemians,

Two years ago I was in Japan with my family for 14 days. My in-laws were there, too. My father-in-law comes from Russia and did his military service in Vladivostok, since then he dreams of visiting Japan. For him, it was a long dream come true. And for us it was such a nice experience that we definitely want to go there again. Already for the reason that we only looked at Tokyo, a little surrounding area and Okinawa, the country has so much more to offer. It is very clean and really beautiful, the Japanese are friendly and very disciplined and I would like to bring you closer to a small series of different places we have visited there and wish you a lot of fun.

All pictures are of course clickable and will then be enlarged.

Prologue

So now on the eighth day of our Japan trip it goes on a really good distance, to be exactly 2000 kilometers away from the main island of Japan is Okinawa Hontō. The largest of the Okinawa Islands with a total of 113 islands (only islands over one HA are counted). When you get there you really feel the holiday flair, the Japanese themselves are on holiday here like the Germans on Mallorca only without alcohol, to be loud and to act like anyone else. Exactly what disturbs you or prevents you from going there with your toddlers. On the island it seems like you are in a South Seas paradise, well at least almost. Turquoise-blue water, palm trees and, as said before, this holiday feeling that the island and the people there radiate at every corner. Okinawa is the longest place in Japan, where women live 87 years and men 80 years on average. The capital of the island is Naha and that's where we landed. I won't introduce you every day this time because we were just at the beach for a few days and made it go well. Therefore I will introduce Okinawa in three parts. So now I wish you a lot of fun with it.

The journey, Motobu Village, the beach and the sunsets.

The journey

It was cloudy when we left for Naha in Tokyo with the Jetstar Airline. So the arrival in Naha was all the nicer and hotter. Then first with the shuttle to the car rental company and further to the accommodation which is about 1.5 hours away from Naha.

After the usual procedure at the airport we now sit in the plane and leave the cloudy Tokyo to enjoy a fantastic view only 2 hours later.

A shuttle brought us directly from the airport on Naha to our car rental where we got a great Toyota Van. Attention: If you want to drive in Japan/Okinawa there are two things to consider, there is left-hand traffic and you need an official translation of the driving licence. Before we were both accomodation in the house "Kazu", we bought some food.

Motobu Village

This really very nice accommodation on Okinawa, lies as the name already says on the edge of the village Motobu. There are shopping facilities, restaurants and a post office. However, this part of the island can only be reached by car. The magnetic levitation train leading out of Naha no longer runs here. But one actually sees almost only Japanese tourists.

This really well prepared holiday home consists of three main houses and is located near the Okinawa Chararium Aquarium. The accommodation was typical Japanese except for one bed and therefore had no chairs and beside the one bed only futon beds in which I must say I slept very well.

The owner is very friendly and has always taken care of our well-being. As you can see, he has simply beautifully prepared the village.

The beach and the sunsets

Here you will see some pictures of the beautiful beaches on Okinawa and the beautiful sunsets. Okinawa has stony beaches, pebble beaches and fine sandy beaches made of coral sand.

At the beautifulSesoko Beach we were several days even if parking here cost extra, converted 13 Euro, but for the whole day. And as you can see it was worth it, because of the stony overhangs you also have enough shade if you don't have a parasol to hand.

As you can see, the beach really has something of a dream holiday and does not need to hide from luxury beaches in the world.

Another beach lay directly below our holiday house, which we could reach even without the car. It consisted of coarser pebbles and was very deserted most of the time. Even here in the holiday season the tourists on the island get lost so strongly that one can have his rest where one would like.

The beach invited us to snorkel and gave us the best sunsets you could wish for.

Also here some very nice pictures of the Okinawa sun, from the beach but also from our accommodation.

Our beach days on Okinawa remain unforgettable and have only confirmed our decision to travel to this beautiful country again. I hope you had fun with my contribution again and I would be happy if you are there again when we visit different sights on Okinawa.
