The Luxury Witnesses of Sultan Deli
Alloys Styles from Several Countries
Hi Steemian's, how are you all today? Has been three days I have no time to write a post on steemit, because there is some work that I have to finish it. In the last days I just drove my friend to the Maimun Palace museum, located in the city of Medan - North Sumatra. Now I've gathered a brief information of the tour.
A building which combines elements of Islam, Malay, Spanish and Italian. The building is designed by an Italian architect in 1888 and then rebuilt and repaired by Sultan Deli, Ma'mun al-Rashid Perkasa Alam. The building consists of two floors and 30 rooms are now much visited by tourists from domestic and foreign tourists.
In addition to the ancient age, the interest of the travelers on this building is because it has a unique interior. large yard and a variety of information related to the history of the people in town. Medan City Government has also managed to arrange this building and free of sidewalk vendors. The vendors are only allowed sells outside the fence of the building.
From the observations that I have made, then I can be sure that when the Sultan Deli reign, the country was under the shadow of the luxury and the modern period. Even now the building is still used as a gathering place for peoples are uses traditional dressed, and they that still want to preserve the old culture in modern times like now.
Very unfortunate because this good building does not have a lot of information available. In fact, I've been looking at various sites on the internet. Perhaps due to the lack of attention from the archaeological team and history lovers there. Although I don't have privileges when visiting here, but as a people who come from outside the city, make a tour to Maimun Palace Museum provides a new experience in my life.
The cannon butts are believed to be the incarnation of Puteri Hijau (Green Princess) by some residents. Until now, the cannon is still a sacred items that strewn with flowers and fruit lime (as a form of respect for her).
