Hong Kong. The island of Lantao and Victoria peak

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit! I want to tell you a little story about my trip to Hong Kong, on the island of Lantao and the peak of Victory.

In General, Hong Kong consists of 4 parts (relatively). It is, in fact, the very business center of Hong Kong island, whose name and called the country (and a bunch of skyscrapers, the appearance of which is strongly associated with Hong Kong), Kowloon (the villages are inhabited by tourists and bakkery, to eat, night life, and at the same time one of the most densely populated areas of the world), a huge New Territory, sparsely populated and covered by national parks, and the island of Lantao. Here airport, Disneyland, some beaches, and monasteries, and that's where I went today.

Yesterday bessey marathon and regime change has adversely affected my sleep, so at 6.20 am I was awake and went for a walk. On the streets — no cars, no people, everything is closed (except for 7-11), the people on the promenade run and do something like yoga or martial arts, visibility is a little better (probably the case in the season, without regular rain is such a haze to be constantly). Walking — a pleasure.

Mui Wo is a small settlement on the island of Lantao, you can get there in about 40 minutes by ferry. Very different from the usual Hong Kong — sand beach, the almost complete lack of people friendly but I guess things change on weekends, when it attracts all the locals. Weekend by the way prices for transport and a half times higher).

After having lunch in a Chinese cafe (as it turned out, the English they know no better of the Thais, that is not at all). To cook by the way also do not know how, yet again — to sabotage the banal fried rice.. Well, at least the portions are giant, the gift that worth 30$ (here and below in the post there is a view Hong Kong dollar). Another 40 minutes along the serpentine bus and we are in Ngong Ping, where there is a Chinese monastery and Buddha statue (again, the biggest — in every Buddhist country has the most Buddha).

Well, go down the funicular (I never was), directly to the subway, although it would be possible for the bus to go to the fishing village of Tai O.

MRT by the way is also very pure, new, almost silent. Another plus Hong Kong — everywhere there are good and free toilets and wi fi)

What to do next? Well, of course to visit the most famous landmark, Victoria peak. 40 minutes on the serpentine road on the bus.

Looks unattractive, isn't it? But wait one hour until dark and we get one of the most stunning views!

And for him not to have to go into just a glorified and filled by the most nehochu tourists pay 360 tower — literally in dwah-minute on the right is at least a good viewing platform and a 15-minute walk to the left — even better (and the path there cool, and flat railings allow you to do decent photos even on a bar of soap). But you've got to see this view with my own eyes — then comes the feeling of a giant metropolis, boiling his life.

Thank you for your attention!
