Return to GR 131 (Day 4) / Návrat na GR131 (Den 4)

After returning from the morning photo shoot at the Cumbrecilla Pass, we packed our tent and all the equipment and headed for Afur. We enjoyed the journey because we knew it was the last downhill awaiting us for this day. We combined the route and the hiking trail to make it as short as possible. When we arrived in Afur, we found something like a bar open here. We bought beer and rested for a while in a small square. Occasionally there came tourists, when they found that is nothing here, again disappeared.

Po návratu z ranního focení v průsmyku Cumbrecilla jsme zabalili stan a veškeré vybavení a vyrazili jsme směr městečko Afur. Cestu jsme si užívali , protože jsme věděli že je to pro tento den poslední cesta z kopce co nás čeká. Kombinovali jsme cestu po turistické stezce a silnici, aby cesta byla co nejkratší. Když jsme dorazili do Afuru, zjistili jsme že je zde otevřen cosi jako bar. Koupili jsme pivo a chvíli odpočívali na malém náměstí. Občas se objevili turisté, kteří když zjistili že zde nic není zase zmizeli.

When I went to the bar for a third beer, the gentleman poured me some sort of homemade cognac and told me to send a colleague for a tasting. At that moment I knew that we must get away as quickly as possible, because otherwise we would have not go. We drank beer and set off for a steep climb. At first we walked on a concrete road that was so steep that I couldn't understand that a car could drive. Because even walking was hard enough.

Když jsem šel do baru pro třetí pivo, pán mi nalil cosi jako domácí koňak a řekl mi že mám poslat také kolegu na ochutnávku. V tu chvíli jsem věděl že musíme co nejrychleji zmizet, protože by jsme jinak neodešli. Dopili jsme pivo a vyrazili vstříc prudkému stoupání. Nejprve jsme šli po betonové silnici, která byla tak prudká že jsem nechápal, že to nějaké auto může vyjet. Protože i jít pěšky bylo dost těžké.

At Lomo Centeno we were totally ko because of our beer. And yet we had another 250 meters of altitude to El Fronton, where the contour lines straightened for a moment. I did not expect we make this climb today. After all, 350 meters of elevation at 2 km distance is hard.

V Lomo Centeno jsme byli díky vypitím pivům totálně ko. A přitom nás čekalo ještě dalších 250 metrů převýšení do El Fronton, kde se vrstevnice na chvíli srovnali. Nečekal jsem, že toto stoupání zdoláme. Přeci jenom 350 metrů převýšení na 2 km vzdálenosti dá zabrat.

When we got up, the weather began to deteriorate, but on the other hand it was not so hot for the next climb. The journey was absolutely amazing. We walked along the ridge with a view of both sides. After 1 km of relative plane we started to climb again. This time it was more pleasant thanks to the weather and the road itself. There was a clay ground, which was easy to walk on, and stairs were made here. Within a short time we were at 900 meters above sea level.

Když jsme se dostali nahoru, počasí se začalo kazit, ale na druhou stranu již nebylo tak vedro pro další stoupání. Cesta byla naprosto úžasná. Šli jsme po hřebeni s výhledem na obě strany. Po 1 km relativní roviny jsme začali opět stoupat. Tentokrát to bylo příjemnější díky počasí i cestě samotné. Byla zde jílová půda, po které se dobře šlo a navíc zde byli udělány schody. Během krátké doby jsme byli v 900 metrech nad mořem.

We were a short walk from the pub. At pub we were looking in the morning from where we were camping. In the back of the pub, the man was washing blood from the road. We sat down to the table and ordered a beer. Mr. waiter asked if we want something to eat. He recommended us goat stew. At that moment we knew what blood was from. So we said why not try. I've never eaten a goat before, but I must say it was great. After the early dinner we sat here for about 5 other beers.

Byli jsme kousek od hospody na kterou jsme ráno koukali z místa kde jsme kempovali. V zadní části hospody muž umýval ze silnice krev. Sedli jsme ke stolečku na vyhlídku a objednali pivo. Pan číšník se zeptal zda chceme i něco k jídlu. Doporučil nám kozí guláš, že prý je čerstvý. V tu chvíli jsme věděli z čeho je krev. Tak jsme si řekli proč to nezkusit. Nikdy předtím jsem kozu nejedl, ale musím říct že to byla paráda. Po brzké večeři jsme zde seděli asi na dalších 5 piv.

The outlook was absolutely great and somehow we didn't want to leave. We had quite a lot of fun from the tourists who just stopped here, made selfie and disappeared away again. We laughed the most from tourists from the Czech Republic. They stopped here and only a man got out of the car and took some pictures. He called the woman to go out with the words "Mom this is wonderful." The woman replied, "Come or we won't have dinner". We just sat quietly and finished the goat stew.

Výhled byl naprosto parádní a nějak se nám nechtělo pryč. Docela dost jsme se pobavili i na účet turistů, kteří zde jen zastavili udělali selfi a zase zmizeli pryč. Nejvíce jsme se se smáli turistům z České republiky. Ti zde zastavili a z auta vystoupil jen muž a udělal pár fotek. Volal na ženu ať se jde také podívat se slovy" Mámo to je nádhera". Žena odpověděla "Pojeď, nebo nestihneme večeři". My jen tiše seděli a dojídali kozí guláš.

From the north the weather began to deteriorate more and more. So it was time to go further and find a place to sleep. We had no idea that the road would lead through the rainforest. Moreover, the atmosphere was 100% started to rain. So we crawled into the nearest forest road we saw and after a few fallen trees across the road we set up our tent and fell asleep very quickly.

Od severu se počasí začalo kazit více a více a tak byl čas vyrazit dále a najít místo na spaní. To jsme netušili, že cesta povede skrze deštný prales. Navíc aby atmosféra byla 100% začalo pršet. Proto jsme zalezli do nejbližší lesní cesty , kterou jsme uviděli a po pár padnutých stromech přes cestu jsme postavili stan a velmi rychle usnuli.

Map Day 4

On the third day we did not travel very far, but as the third day is critical. It was definitely critical the amount of alcohol we drank. We walked only 7.6 km and overcome an elevation of 1355 meters. The result was only one valley.

Třetí den jsme neurazili zrovna velkou vzdálenost, ale jak se říká třetí den bývá kritický. To rozhodně byl do množství alkoholu co jsme vypili. Ušli jsme jen 7.6 km a překonali převýšení 1355 metrů. Výsledku to bylo překonání jen jednoho údolí.
