Stone Sculptures Standing in front of the Tomb
In my guess, from the stone coffin the area was designed to show the sculptures relating to the tomb.
Sheep by the stone coffin was mysterious, the meaning of sheep sculptures near the tomb was not easy to find out.
As passing through sheep, there were 2 sets of stone sculptures of men.
It was said that one was a scholar, the other was a warrior.
In Eastern society, scholars were mainly the bureaucrats. The bureaucrats were selected through a nation wide test.
So, in eastern society, the scholars were superior to the warriors.
The first set of sculptures was so common, but the next sculptures were so interesting. It seemed that the faces of the sculptures were carved after the ordinary people. Both sculptures were smiling slightly. I could figure their job out with the expression in their faces.
One is strict, other is smiling.
Those two sculptures are very interesting, I have not noticed a sward in hands of first, until I read that one is a warrior. You are right they both quite different and one is really smiling but the other has serious look. Amazingly both still i n good condition and all the carving very well preserved :)
