Characteristics of Seon Am Sa Temple : Divided Space
Seon Am Sa temple is quite different from other temples in its characteristics.
The one of the most different thing from others seemed the interpretation of the space in this temple.
Unlike other temples, the spaces were closed and divided by the walls.
People could move through the gates from this place to that place.
Usually the space in other temples is widely opened.
Of course in Bulgooksa temple, the spaces were divided by wall, but it was very different from Seon Am Sa.
Bulgooksa tempe has the very formal style in architecture, but Seon Am Sa was very liberal in its architectural style. Even though the spaces and the places were closed and divided, I could feel comfort and free in the closed space.
In my thought, It is not easy to explain the characteristics of the space in Seon Am Sa, so I’d like introduce you some pics of the Soen Am Sa temple.

@slowwalker, Exactly Seon Am Sa Temple very different than other temples of Korea. Especially seems divided space. Other temples not seen these Characteristics. Those divided walls seems different architecture. But it's very attractive to my view. The gate's roof style inspire me lot. Brilliant captures you introduced to the community with great explain.

This is a very special temple @slowwalker because of the walls surrounding it, maybe the monks that keep it wants a very good security and privacy and to preserve its beauty as well.
I agree with you that it must be hard to explain the architectural detail of the temples especially when it is such a unusual one. I think that the surroundings are very beautiful and feel very peaceful to me. I hope you had a wonderful time there.

It looks quite simple but strong, nice roof with traditional giwa, not much colors but still very attractive. When I see such places, the give comfort, may be because majority of us we are simple people and such place gives us impressions that this is something close to us, where for example we could live, like a neighborhood. It seems you have had a nice weather too :)

That the unique temple fit om korea or other country. As i knew in indonesai,, temple has openned and wide room to perform budhist ceremony. So it is interesting from your post and then we know than you photo's temple is different.
I just guess, i don't know right or wrong. The separation of the temple has connection with life of human which have many room of life, many goal and many ways?
I don know at all.
