My Jorney To The NIgerian Embassy + The Suprise I Meet There.

in #travel7 years ago

Hello Friends,
Although I am sick, down with flu but I had to go to the Nigerian Embassy today since I was giving the date to come and capture for my little baby's passport. I was thinking that I would I do it with my health because the place is always a mess. But when I get there, I was surprise to see so many changes there.

I was sucking on my Hubby for being sick and going so far; from Pretoria to Johannesburg as if it was his fault to have the date for today. We traveled by Gautrain which is fast, comfortable and reliable. If you are in South Africa and need to go somewhere urgently, just use the Gautrain and you will be rest assured to get their on time.

I took some pictures but I was unable to take much pictures since I was struggling to take even the ones I took. So please bear with me. So back to the surprise I meet at the Nigerian Embassy.

The Surprises

Unlike before when we wanted to register for a passport, after filling the form which was not easy to fill then and the payment is not easy too since your card will need to be registered with them before you can pay with it. This is a very long process and after submitting, you will have to wait for like 2 months plus before you are called to capture. After capturing, you will have to wait for another 2 month plus to wait before you can have the passport. So this allow corruption to take place since most people want to collect their passport as early as possible. They were paying their way to nearer dates for everything. This was what I was thinking when my husband told me that we will go fill the form and submit for our little girl's passport. To my surprise, we were able to fill the form and submitted it online and also paying on our own. And immediately there, we were giving date to come which was the following day; today ( we submitted yesterday and went for capturing today). Wow, it was great. I could not believe it but it was true.

Then we left home for the journey to the embassy which was a smooth one. Still I was very tired and getting more sick. When we got there, We meet few people outside. Normally it was always crowded for people from different provinces coming to capture or get their passport even as early as 6am so that they can be the first to be attended to even though the embassy opens at 9am. We got there around past 8am and we got the number 19 on the que. Wow amazing, at that time, I was expecting us to be like number 30-40.

We finally went inside and everything has changed. We were not allowed to take our phones inside so I was unable to take pictures. After like 5 minutes, the consular came and address us about the changes and every other things. We were so happy since this has never happened before. We felt as if we are in Nigeria already.
I cannot go into much detailed now because I am getting tired of typing already. But everything went smoothly and within few minutes, I was able to captured for my little girl and we left for home. All the minutes spent there is not up 2 hours unlike before when it would be like 6-8 hours. I was so happy since I am sick.
