SeanyTravels (Japan-Fukuoka) #9 Visit to the Scenic 大濠公園 Ohori Park
My visit to Fukuoka was intended to be one that was of relaxation, and I really felt that way at Ohori Park.
This is a really great place to visit when you are visiting Fukuoka, and you will be able to take in beautiful sights and sounds when strolling around here.
We arrived in late afternoon and although there is alot going on here - people jogging, walking their pets, just chilling by the benches, exercising, you still feel a sense of serenity.
I grabbed a screenshot from the Ohori Park website, and you can see that the view from above (if you manage to get a Helicopter ride), it is splendid.
As you read through my post, you will see some aspects of this park that looks quite like 'West Lake 西湖' in China, and that is absolutely right! This place is actually remodeled after West Lake. I've visited that lake in China before as well, and the style is quite similar.

The park is located in the centre, surrounded by buildings, yet at the same time, it feels quite peaceful.
I can't really find the words to describe it, but the wildlife here seems rather unhindered by the presence of human civilization.
There is quite a large variety of wild life here, let me show you some I managed to snap.
tortoises might be hard to spot
The pigeons flying around the cats, who don't seem to care.
Not sure if the human is breakdancing, or falling over
not wildlife, just batman
people jogging into sunset
please do not fish
awaiting sunset
lone duck
walking towards the mini pavilion
posing for the camera
There are many people at the time who arrived, waking their dogs.
i'm tired
i can walk myself
many Shibas sniffing each other's butts
If you are visiting Fukuoka some time this year, do add Ohori Park to your list! I promise you won't be disappointed, especially if you are also looking to have a chill and relaxing time. You can probably get an Onigiri and have a mini picnic here by the bench.
I took this final photo before saying goodbye to the park.
I will leave you with this beautiful sight.

The park in your photos looks familiar. I think it was referenced in Nobunagun...
ahh i didn't read that manga. But maybe.... this park has something to do with some old warlords or shoguns in the past geographically HAHAHA
I saw the anime, didn't read the manga. It's the site of an alien attack during a school trip.
The park is strikingly similar to the Chinese Garden. Upvoted!
