Wandering Memories #7: Dubrovnik, Mostar, Sarajevo

Less text today & more photos. Nothing spectacular enough has happened to be written here. In Dubrovnik, we complained about prices and crown, got drunk in the bar and then we looked for a place to lay down - we managed to find it on the roof of some building, which could be accessed from the road. It was pretty overgrown and we slept together with ants and spiders. On the border with Bosnia, for 40 minutes, I begged the borderlander not to give me a 300 euro fine for bringing the knife (!!!).

Bartek later left us and went to Montenegro, I stayed alone with Wojtek. In Mostar we met two Spanish girls with whom we met later in Sarajevo, and then we went together with the Danes, Dutchmen and one Boszniak to a real Balkan party with live band, rakija drinking and singing Balkan hits. A former policeman brought us to the capital of Bosnia, who also overnighted us, served us with beer and told us many stories about life in Yugoslavia....

Sarajevo has proved to be a colourful, vibrant and culturally diverse city with a very tough history. The hills surrounding the town create an unbelievable atmosphere, but they were also a place from which Serbian snipers aimed at the civilians in the city centre.
