My family and I are on an action packed road trip from Orlando to Gatlinburg, TN. I'll be posting each day and sharing our fun times, if you missed the first post in the series you can find it by clicking here.

Next stop, Atlanta! Continuing on our fun-filled journey we made it to dinner at a gem of a restaurant. We found this place called R. Thomas' Deluxe Grill that serves organic food with lots of vegan, raw, and gluten free options! They also serve grass-fed meat and breakfast all day with free-range eggs.

My husband has been saying for years that there should be a healthy restaurant that serves good quality food for both vegans and meat-eaters alike. We may even start our own restaurant some day! This place is the closest thing we've found so far to our vision. Ideally we'd like to see them add a fryer and use coconut oil, which doesn't go rancid once it's heated. Nevertheless, there's so much to love and appreciate about this place.

The atmosphere is amazing with lots of color and dancing lights. Outside as you walk in from the parking lot there are multiple cages full of exotic parrots and even a toucan named Sam!

Inside they serve all kinds of fresh juices and teas, even young Thai coconuts, beer and wine. The food ranges from burgers to quinoa bowls. There is literally something for everyone! The prices are high but so is the quality. Oh, and did I mention it's open 24hrs!!!!

Jeremy had the grass-fed burger topped with guac and "special" sauce. I had the red potato and corn chowder, and our daughter had their french toast. We also ordered a pot of organic rose tea and a coconut.

We were very impressed with this place and I wish we had one in Orlando! One of the most impressive menu items was their coconut kefir, which is fermented coconut water. Even more impressive is that on the bottom of the menu they had the story of the restaurant and mentioned that one of their inspirations was Donna Gates.

Donna Gates is the author of the Body Ecology Diet, which focuses on limiting intake of sugar and consuming large amounts of cultured foods and drinks. A few years ago we did Donna Gates' Body Ecology Diet and made coconut kefir and cultured vegetables ourselves. It was amazing to be able to buy the ready made kefir out at a restaurant and while on vacation! My husband Jeremy has a post on fighting candida and sugar addiction on his website where he explains more about the health benefits of the Body Ecology Diet.

See the coconut kefir below.
