I think maybe you just need to chill more ;D Though travelling more is also good.

We tend to "keep left" like when driving here though as far as standing still on escalaters go as long as you're just occupying one side or the other you'll be fine as people just walk around you XD

So the UK has escalators to heaven/hell (depending on which way you're going and whether you're coming up/down from a station XD) too, that doesn't surprise me!
