USA roadtrip #25: Las Vegas Hotels [EN|GER]

When visiting Las Vegas you should keep in mind that the hotels not just look spectacular from the outside but also from the inside.
The themes of the hotels are also reflected in the interior design and décor. So when entering a hotel you sometimes feel as if you are entering another country.

Some hotels are designed with big love to detail so walking through the buildings can be a great fun (even without a stop at the casino). Because the hotels in Las Vegas are very large and you can get lost quickly there, here are some visits you shouldn’t miss.

Venetian & Palazzo

The Venetian Resort Hotel is the older of the two Italian-inspired hotels and, as the name implies, a smaller copy of the city of Venice.

In the building are Venetian canals with real gondolas and other typical sights such as St. Mark's Square or the Rialto Bridge.

The Venetian opened in 1999 and the sister hotel Palazzo in 2008. With 7,128 rooms the connected hotel complex is one of the largest in the world.

Luxor

Under the motto Ancient Egypt the hotel and casino Luxor has been constructed. In the outdoor area, an obelisk and a replica of the Sphinx of Giza contribute their part to the nice design.

The most striking feature of the hotel, is the light beam that radiates at night from the top of the hotel straight into the sky. This can even be noticed from space.

Caesars Palace

The splendor of the ancient Roman Empire is reflected in this hotel. Caesars Palace is one of the most luxurious hotels on the Strip. The hotel is also known from the movie Hangover. Whether the gag to ask at the reception if Caesar really lived here is still funny you'll find out the best for yourself ;)

Bei der Besichtigung von Las Vegas lohnt es sich die Hotels nicht nur von außen sondern auch von innen zu besichtigen.
Das Thema des Hotels spiegelt sich auch in der Innenarchitektur und der Einrichtung wieder und so hat man nicht selten das Gefühl beim Betreten eines Hotels in ein anderes Land zu reisen.

Einige Hotels sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und allein das Begehen des Gebäudes ist ein Erlebnis wert. Da die Hotels in Las Vegas sehr groß dimensioniert sind und man sich schnell verlaufen kann, hier einige Tipps deren Besuch sich lohnt.

Venetian & Palazzo

Das Venetian Resort Hotel ist das ältere der beiden italienisch angehauchten Hotels und wie es der Name verrät, der Stadt Venedig nachempfunden.

In dem Gebäude gibt es venezianische Kanäle mit echten Gondeln und weitere typische Sehenswürdigkeiten wie den Markusplatz oder die Rialtobrücke.

Das Venetian wurde 1999 eröffnet und das Schwesterhotel Palazzo im Jahr 2008. Der zusammenhängende Hotelkomplex ist mit 7.128 Zimmern einer der größten weltweit.

Luxor

Unter dem Motto antikes Ägypten wurde das Hotel und Casino Luxor eingerichtet. Im Außenbereich trägt ein Obelisk und eine Nachbildung der Sphinx von Gizeh zum dem stimmigen Gesamtbild bei.

Auffallendstes Merkmal des Hotels ist aber der Lichtstrahl, welcher bei Nacht aus der Spitze des Hotels senkrecht in den Himmel strahlt. Dieser soll sogar vom All aus erkennbar sein.

Caesars Palace

Die Pracht des antiken römischen Reiches wird von diesem Hotel wiedergespiegelt. Das Caesars Palace zählt zu den luxuriösesten Hotels am Strip. Vielen ist das Hotel zudem aus dem Film Hangover bekannt. Ob der Gag an der Rezeption nachzufragen, ob Caesar hier wirklich gelebt hat noch witzig ist findet ihr am besten selbst raus ;)
