Summer in Samar, 🇵🇭 : Majestic Waterfalls in Calbayog City

It was during summer vacation (break from my Acads life) when I got a chance to visit the City of Calbayog, Samar, the second largest city in the Philippines in terms of Land area. The City is being dubbed as "The Waterfalls City" because it is a home of waterfalls connected only in one long river.

Tarangban Falls is the giant waterfalls in Samar Island and is said to be the most visited place in Calbayog City. It is partly located in Brgy. Tinaplacan, Calbayog City District, Samar in Eastern Visayas Region.

From the city proper of Calbayog, it will take morethan an hour ride to Brgy. Tinaplacan where the said waterfalls is located. Upon arrival, the residents there guide us to the tourism office and signed up for a registration fee at the local tourism office of the barangay and immediately ride again for a habal-habal going to the jump-off point of the said falls.

So we immediately registered at the local tourism office of the Barangay upon our arrival.

From the residents area to the jump off, we ride a "habal-habal" for almost 30 minutes. And here is the way going there. A single path road.

This is my photo at the jump off. There are small store there which you can buy foods and waters. Be better if you just bring water for the trekky adventure walk going to the falls.

The trekky trail going to Tarangban Falls is a little slippery and muddy. The trail will last for almost 30 minutes. As per experience the perfect time to go there is during summer to avoid less difficult trail. Also, as being well-recommended, be better to start your trip early in the morning for a well-taken photos and crowdlessly sorrounding.

In the half way before reaching the falls you can see a big-living rocks along the river. Taking pictures is really a must in here.

She is my classmate since elementary, so happy ..I got a chance to convince her to come with me despite her busy sched.Hahaha

So here comes the highlight of my travelouge. The Giant waterfalls is indeed very beautiful. A one of a kind gift from nature. Very rare to see like this . The goodness of this place is being uninhabited and not yet exploited, the falls is very majestic. Hope the government will able to develop the place for tourism attractions to witness how beautiful the place is.

Meeting another people is definitely one of the purpose of travel. Luckily, we have met travelers from Mindanao. So here we are sharing thoughts and travel experiences. Hehe

Ps. The Local tourism officers of Tinaplacan won't allow you to go to the falls without a tourguide. So, it is a must to have a guide for safety and security reasons. The guide's standard fee is P200.00 regardless of the number of persons. Be better to go there with your Barkadas yet giving tip to the guide is discretionary, its up to your conscience to do so
