Relaxed Beach Vibes - The Cashew Island Koh Phayam

Apart from famous Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui or Koh Phangan this island is a more unknown destination. Probably because is does not have the brightest beaches with the clearest water in Thailand, yet offers other treasures that are becoming rare in Thailand’s world of travel: Relaxation on almost empty beaches, a laid-back atmosphere and nice bars and restaurants without never-ending parties. And this island has no cars - how cool is that, right?

So since the modes of transportation are limited due to the very small pathways there, the majority of island adventurers gets around by motor bikes. Rebelling against these fume-spitting little monsters, my boyfriend and I rented mountainbikes and were then exploring the island fueled by our own strength. We really enjoyed the empty beaches, especially Long Beach was really nice.  And cruising around with our bikes, we got to know a new area of the island each day.

Abgesehen vom berühmten Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui oder Koh Phangan ist diese Insel ein weniger bekanntes Reiseziel. Wahrscheinlich weil sie nicht die hellsten Strände mit dem klarsten Wasser in ganz Thailand hat, demgegenüber bietet sie jedoch andere Schätze, die in der Reisewelt Thailands immer seltener zu finden sind: Entspannung an fast leeren Stränden, eine gelassene Atmosphäre und schöne Bars und Restaurant ohne endlose Parties. Obendrauf hat diese Insel keine Autos - ziemlich cool, was?

Da die Transportmittel dort aufgrund der sehr schmalen Wege begrenzt sind, fährt der Großteil der Inselabenteurer mit dem Motorroller umher. Mein Freund und ich rebellierten gegen diese Abgase speienden kleinen Monster und liehen uns stattdessen Mountainbikes aus, um uns die Insel aus eigener Kraft zu erschließen. Wir genossen tagtäglich die leeren Strände, besonders Long Beach war wirklich schön. Also cruisten wir mit unseren Rädern herum und erkundeten jeden Tag ein neues Gebiet der Insel.

Falls du nach Ruhe am Strand, entspannte Cafés um dein Kokosnusswasser zu schlürfen und ein paar Hippie Vibes suchst, wird Koh Phayam sicherlich der richtige Ort für deinen nächsten Urlaub in Thailand sein. Wir haben unsere kleine Entdeckungstour per Mountainbike jedenfalls genossen - folge mir, wenn du mehr Geschichten von meiner Weltreise miterleben möchtest, das Abenteuer hat nämlich gerade erst begonnen :)
