The events "Berlin leuchtet" (translated: "Berlin shines"; 30. September to 16. October) and the "Festival of Lights" (7. to 16. October) are transforming Berlin into a fabulous world of light installations. Last night I went out to my favourite spots when the city is illuminated. I was once again very impressed. The Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) and the Brandenburg Gate look fantastic under the art installations and are illuminated highlights.
Die Events "Berlin leuchtet" (30. September bis zum 16. Oktober) und das "Festival of Lights" (7. - 16. Oktober) verwandeln Berlin in eine fabelhafte Welt voller Lichtinstallationen. In der vergangenen Nacht zog es mich wieder zu meinen Top-Spots, wenn die Stadt beleuchtet wird. Ich war wieder einmal begeistert. Besonders der Berliner Dom und das Brandenburger bilden Highlights.
On these days art light installations shine onto buildings, streets, malls and monuments. Seeing the buildings shining under various creative installations is extremely enjoyable and relaxing.
Diese Tage über sind die Kunstlichtinstallationen auf Gebäuden, Straßen, Malls und Monumenten zu finden.
Die Stadt derartig in verschiedensten Weisen beleuchtet zu sehen, ist ein Genuss und unheimlich entspannend.
From the 7th of October the "Festival of Lights" begins, which is going to overlap with the current event "Berlin leuchtet" resulting in even more stunning surprises all over the city. The television tower (by locals called "Alex"), which can be seen on some of the below photos in the background, will be part of the "Festival of Lights" and will start to shine in a few days.
Once a year these installations lighten the city, so I can definitely recommend a Berlin visit in October. It is worth it!
Am 7. Oktober kommt zum aktuellen "Berlin leuchtet" noch das "Festival of Lights" hinzu, d. h., dann wird die Stadt noch weitere Überraschungen bieten. Der Alex (Berlins Fernsehturm), der auf einigen der Bilder zu sehen ist, wird ein Teil der Festival of Lights Beleuchtungen sein.
Einmal im Jahr leuchtet die Stadt. Ich kann einen Berlin-Trip im Oktober nur empfehlen.
