Travel to Monagas state

This weekend we went my mother, my daughter and I to take an aunt to her house in Maturin, the Monagas state capital, since I had passed once without knowing much and they had never gone. It was 9 hours from Maracay, our city. I hope you enjoy the photos.



Monagas is an oil state, some deposits can be seen along the way.

Maturín city

It is the capital city of the state; Is very nice, with wide avenues and places to walk, the bad thing is that it is too hot, the temperature does not drop below 34ºC

Maturin Cathedral is one of the few in the country that was built in the 20th century. It is an imposing and very high building. As you can see in the photo, there was a demonstration in favor of the venezuelan political prisoners at that time in front of the Church

Cueva del Guácharo

Approximately 80 km from Maturín is the cave of the guacharo, near the road in the middle of the jungle.
The cave is one of the most important tourist attractions of the state, it is estimated that it has a length of more than 10 kilometers.
German Alexander von Humboldt was the first european who visited the cave at 1799

Guacharo is the name of the bidrs which live in the cave.
