A day in Tavira - [Praia do Barril] the beach of the anchors
Hi Steemians!! One more day in Portugal, today @lajulius and myself went to Praia do Barril.
Praia do Barril is located Near Santa Luzia Not far from Tavira. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve.
The Anchor Cemetery Is there to remind the hard-working done by fishermen.
These are the anchors of the tuna boats craft that has now disappeared.
It is a beach of fine sand, there are very beautiful waves and very beautiful shells.
At the bar it is time to take a break, a mojito for @lajulius and a vino Verde for me. 🍷🍹
Afterwards we went to Tavira for a walk, this is the second time we go but the places to discover are many.
The river Gilao crosses the city. It is a millennial city that dates back to the time of the Romans.
If one day you have the opportunity to go to Portugal, I recommend you to visit this city.
After visiting, sit down at a patio and enjoy.

Hey there and welcome to Portugal, just dont forget.. Portugal is not only Algarve and there are many more places to visit. A few KM north you will find Alentejo. And you should pay Evora a visit if you are there.

Thank you for your reply @ilhicas I know that the Algarve is not the only place in Portugal but this is where we are for the holidays. Maybe next year we will go by car and visit the whole country. We very much appreciate this country.

Regarding the anchor in the first picture: Is this art or what is the reason?
It is a cemetery of anchors that come from the old tuna fishing boats. It remember this trade that has disappeared today.
