Walking in the Tommy Thompson Park Toronto

in #travel5 years ago

Hi, Dear Stemmit community,

Many words occurred to explain a large city like Toronto, keeping talking on my stay in this city I would lead you to one of its corners.

One Sunday a friend of mine and me decide to walk through Tommy Thompson Park on the south-west of the downtown. It was a lovely day to enjoy some nature and the breadth of Lake Ontario. The weather at the beginning of June starts to become warm enough to wear a t-shirt.

Almost six-kilometres one way from the main entrance to the lighthouse, local people come to this recreational area for hiking, cycling through its trails. It is possible to see also some wildlife, bird-watching, racoons, squirrels.

Our walking was extremely relaxing and it was not very busy. We did not find any snakes just a duck, birds and a racoon.
Different lookouts towards the downtown of Toronto make our walking more interesting. I did my best to take some very good photos with my camera.

At the beginning of June, some trees are still looking like in autumn instead of spring of summer.

Finally, we reached the lighthouse, we saw some person on the top but I did not get on the top.

From the lighthouse, we had to come back to the entrance, other six kilometres walking. Meanwhile, the sun was going down and provide a different view to downtown, and the weather started to get colder: it required a jumper not just a T-shirt.

I would conclude this post with a photo taken by my friend on our way back. After twelve kilometres walking we had to walk some kilometres to the house of my friends and have dinner. It has been a lovely Sunday afternoon.

That's a pretty nice sunset skyline! of Toronto! You found a hidden gem! It's a long walk but worth it. That lighthouse is interesting, I would be all over that tag on the building. Canadian cities are full of green surprises, sounds like you had a great time discovering!

You right it was a great time. It is a pity I did not get to the top of that lighthouse. The way back without a jumper it was a bit freezing due to cold wind... but I survived :)
