Our Life Story | Chapter 27 – Los Angeles, the city of Angels

A week has passed since we started this roadtrip and it already has taken us to so many cool places.

Yet we arrived at another one, Los Angeles!

After spending a week sleeping in a small tent and living out of our car we felt it would be a good idea to spend a night in a bit more luxury. So we did, nothing too expensive but just a regular motel room in downtown, LA.

It has only been a week but it feels really good to have a shower that doesn’t require coins, has lots of bugs or has cold wind blowing through while trying to enjoy a refreshing moment.
And not to forget an internet connection, this sure helps trying to reach you guys 😊

Our motel is located on North Broadway in Chinatown. If we have to believe the signs, a part of the movie La La Land was filmed here. Sounds plausible since we are in LA right?

Since arrived 2 hours prior to check-in time we decided to go to Santa Monica beach. If it wasn’t for the “LA Traffic” we could have spent the whole day there but since it took us about 1,5 hour to get there we just rented some bicycle’s for an hour and enjoyed the sun and fascinating people along the Santa Monica Pier and beach.

It took us even longer to drive back and we had to hurry to make it in time for our reservation at Bäco Mercat. A great Mediterranean fusion restaurant with shared food and lovely cocktails. So after a quick shower we took a Uber to the historic Old Bank district where Bäco Mercat is located.

The food and drinks were delicious!
Especially after eating rice, pasta, and noodles for a whole week haha. Tired and with a filled stomach we got back to the motel to sleep in a proper bed for the first time this week.

For now, We’re back to packing our bags and getting ready for the next part of our trip.
