Most Traveller Friendly Cities In The World

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

As my first words, I would like to say that I will only make this list of 4-5 cities out of the ones I had the chance to see.. I have been to 17 countries in my life. I have only been to North America, Europe, Eurasia(Turkey,Georgia) as continents.

First of all, I take comfort, hospitality of locals, rate of English speakers, prices of alcohol, sandwiches, metro tickets etc as criterias.

Here I start;

  • Porto; well, port wine is a worldwide known thing.. it is a reason that will be enough to make people visit. Then there is, beautiful people of Porto who show you a great hospitality and are very sincere and warm-blooded; also I should mention the annual festivals and events in that city, alcohol is very cheap, and the city is not so big to explore by walking, unlike other Mediterranean countries, Portuguese people speak much more fluently in English, please also keep in mind, view of Ribeira and Douro Bridge that was made by the creators of Eiffel Tower.. There are many smart, creative and beautiful street arts, in the narrow and historic streets of Porto..

  • Prague; It is a city where you get amazed by how affordable it is when you consider it's beauty, charm, history, amount of fun you can have etc.. First of all, its sights, and attractions are so many that you will feel lucky to have visited because there will always be something new to see or to do.. The castles, clock and petrin towers, Trdelnik(their special traditional dessert), prices of alcohol, tobacco etc., and please note, arguably, the second best city to have a great night out in Europe.The crime records are very low compared to other big cities in Europe. You will definitely feel secure.

  • Salamanca; This city has an amazing atmosphere, it does not have super large streets or avenues, big skyscrapers etc, it is more like a little town. However, about the weather, it is a bit distinctive in Spain. Does not make you feel like you are in Spain, especially in winter.. :D It is a student city, it is cheap, does not require so much time to explore but it is definitely somewhere to see, and the nightlife of this city, is just incredibly breathtaking! It is a Unesco World Heritage city, there is Casa de las Conches, that building has stone shells mounted upon it. You have the beautiful Spanish food and if you decide to visit, do it on second week of december although it is cold on these dates, there is a fiesta called Nochevieja, please take time to have look at videos online..

  • Florence; I did not have so much time to spend in Florence, I am saying this accordingly because the city is not small and there are lots of things to do.. It is a super historical city in Italy. It is the birthplace of Renaissance. In every corner of the city, you feel it, some masterpiece of art, or a sacred building will be facing you. Although it is a busy and crowded city(central part) it is much more like a small town. Walking in the streets of the city will put you back in time.. The architecture of the city is ridiculously amazing. A traveller cannot miss those beautiful works. It might not be so cheap, but there is good food and good wine that will cover this missing advantage.. Moreover, I must add that also another reason for me to love this city is that because most parts of the movie "Hannibal" was filmed in this city.

  • Lisbon; I know I will sound like a patriotic Portuguese as this is the second city in Portugal, but Lisbon is simply a city which you can't almost say anything negative about. There are countless numbers of places to see. You can visit the Most WesternPoint of Europe which is called Cabo da Roca. As you walk by the sea, you will see many interesting architecture greats. There are many traditional things to try, famous Portuguese pastry dessert Pastel de Nata, was first produced in the Pasteis de Belem, restaurant and it is still active. Also, "ginginha" is another tasty sweet thing which is a liquid, that will contain full of different cholocate flavours. Hey, please do not forget to go to SINTRA, colorful Pena Castle is getting more and more popular among Europe.
