#TakeTrip (6) - The Northern Of Thailand Part 2, Mae Hong Son Province
Hello everyone, I'm back :))))
From Tak, We drove up north along the border road to Mae Hong Son province. It was a bendy road through the mountains. The view was really nice and green all the way.
I stopped at Long Next Village before I got to Mae Hong Son Town. They were refugees from Burma who came to Thailand. The village was set up for them to sell souvenir, not look too real but still interesting.
Here was the first thing I saw when I arrived in Mae Hong Son. The big city entrance gateway "WELCOME TO MAE HONG SON, THAILAND".
Mae Hong Son Town is small but I could feel that this place is full of history and culture. In the center of the town, there is Nong Chong Kham Public Park. It's a good relaxing place to sit and walk around with a beautiful view of Wat Chong Kham, the temple opposite.
Wat Chong Kham was built in 1872 but it was reconstruction after it was damaged by fire in 1970.
Here was at Wat Phrathat Doi Kongmu. It was located on the top of the hill, west of the town. From here you can see the view of the town and it is good for sunset and sunrise.
Out of the town, there is Su Tong Pae Bridge. The longest bamboo bridge in Thailand. It was pretty entertaining to walk across the rice field on this bridge.
Driving out from the town to Pang Ung. I stayed the night there and had a really great view by the lake in the morning. There was fog over the lake until late morning, the weather here was really fresh. It was a peaceful and a totally beautiful place.
Not to far from Pang Ung is Ban Rak Thai, The Yunnan Chinese Village style. People here came from China and the village was settled by a nationalist for Yunnan. There are resorts and restaurants here, mosty in Chinese style. If you can speak Chinese to them, they will enjoy speaking to you. They also grow a lot of tea here and sell them at the shop.
My next stop was Pai. There were tourists and foreigners here more than the other place since I started this trip. In Pai you could come to Yun Lai Viewpoint for sunrise and Chinese tea in the morning. Great view and nice weather for starting your day.
Santichon Village is a chinese village in Pai. Good to visit during the day here.
Pai Canyon is another place in Pai that is worth a visit. It was fun hiking around with a nice canyon scene. My dog also enjoyed it!
