My Property - Utah Series #1

in #travel5 years ago (edited)

All photos taken by me with a Fujifilm Finepix A210 except where noted, with some Lightroom post processing.

Since we have been experiencing some rather foul weather lately, I have been going through my archives of old photos. Found quite a few I took on a trip to Utah back in 2010. Thought I would share them in a series of posts.

These are the views from a small piece of property left to me by my parents. Since I hadn't been here since the '60s on a family vacation, I thought seeing the property was a good excuse for a road trip to Utah. I think my dad bought it in 1960 for about $300. According to the tax statement it is worth about 5x that now. So as you can see I am quite the land baron. lol. I have often fantasied about building a yurt here and living off grid, but until the complete collapse of society that probably aint going to happen. :)

About 30 miles from here over that mountain range is Cedar City, UT.

Snow capped peaks in the distance.

I guess the biggest question about this picture is... pants or no pants. Luckily for a well positioned bush, no one will ever have to know the answer! :) Not taken by me.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

You're welcome @oldmans, thanks for jumping in. Let me know if you have any questions. Btw, I'm and Oregonian as well, up here in the Columbia River Gorge. I spotted your post about the Maryhill Winery and I was like, "Maryhill? On the blockchain!? Woohoo!"

I thought I would give it a try. I see you added the #photography tag which is the one I use a lot.

I lived in Trout Lake at the base of Mt Adams for a couple years. I saw your post on the Deschutes trail. I always wanted to hike some of that but never got around to it before I moved to Central OR. Oh well, another reason to go back for a visit. :)
