Brooklyn SECRET Neighborhood-You Have to Check It Out

in #travel7 years ago

One of my favorite things...no--my favorite thing to do in the city is to explore my own boro of Brooklyn on bicycle. Even withing Brooklyn there are SO many places to see, there are so many neighborhoods, and that is just Brooklyn. I haven't even ventured out into Manhattan until this year, and Queens is still completely unknown to me. You could spend a whole year just biking down the city's streets and finding new favorite spots to go.
This post is about Vinegar Hill- an often over-looked but beautiful little collection of blocks that are all so quaint and charming. Vinegar Hill's also one of the quietest places I've found in the city, it is such a nice place to go... it's made up of about 5 or 6 cobble stoned blocks lined with colorful old buildings from the 1800s and flowers and little boutiques. It's peaceful and pretty and if you get the chance, DEFINITELY check it out!

These are some of the historic buildings that make up the main street- painted in pastels and facing a cobbled street. I don't remember the last time I saw a car drive down this block.

I also don't really remember any people ever walking through the town....it really is Brooklyn's secret village-not even the locals know about it...

People have really cool tastes in doors here. I could do a whole post on the cool doors of Brooklyn.

I love these water tanks. More and more pop up each month.
Farewell from Brooklyn!
