Travel Journal: Bavaria July 2019 (Bayrischzell, Rosenheim, Nuremberg)

in #travel5 years ago

Last weekend, me and my girlfriend have been invited to a wedding at Bayrischzell. This couple decided to celebrate their wedding at an alpine cabin at Bavaria. The first two nights from Thursday to Saturday we stayed at Bayrischzell directly. The hotel was really cozy and had a nice ambient to it. The breakfast was great as well.

You can find it right here on TripAdvisor:

On our first night in Bavaria, we went to the Schliersee and ate traditional food at a beer garden:

(Roast Pork with dumplings and beer)

(Kaiserschmarrn (cut-up and sugared pancake with raisins) and Goaßmaß (beer with coke and cherry liquor))

Due to the fact that I forgot my shirt for the wedding at Paderborn, we went to the next bigger city the next day: Rosenheim. It is exactly how you would imagine a small city in Bavaria:

The same afternoon, we did a walk with some lamas. We also walked to some small waterfalls near our hotel:

On this photo, the friendship was not hurt yet, however, the lama decided to start spitting on my girlfriend. I had more fun than I thought I would have…

On Saturday we were ready for the main reason of our journey to Bavaria: the wedding. The alpine cabin and the restaurant were called “Speckalm”, which translates to bacon alpine cabin. They produce their own “speck” at this place and it tasted really good. We also slept at this cabin for the night, however, the room was without an own bathroom and quite expensive for this matter. It also did not have a TV and the bed was really small. The wedding itself was amazing though!

You can find the Speckalm on TripAdvisor as well:

After a short and uncomfortable night, we had to leave our room and drove to Nuremberg. The traffic was heavy because most of Germany has school holidays right now, but we arrived to a wonderful hotel. We had a junior suite at the five star Le Merdien Grand Hotel located directly at the old part of Nuremberg. We also had a late check-out for the next day and just spent 7 Euros more than the night before (without bathroom and so on).

Here is the link to the hotel at TripAvisor:

During our stay at Nuremberg, we just stroll around the main city and had some awesome views while enjoying the sunny weather:

After leaving the hotel at around four in the afternoon, we headed to the airport to take a flight to Malta. The journal about our vacation there will be posted within the next days!
