How we get to Sunset Peak 如何前往大東山

Depart from Tung Chung MTR station and take shuttle bus No.3M to Pak Kung Au Stop. Around 20 mins.
Get off at Pak Lok Au on the left pavilion, then turn left at the Phoenix Trail (right for the southern Lantau Walk).
從東涌地鐵站出發，搭乘3M號班車前往北公車站。 大約20分鐘。
在伯公坳下車，左上涼亭，然後在鳳凰徑左轉（右轉時是南大嶼郊遊徑）。

You will find the way to Sunset Peak on your left side after you get off from bus. The duration of the route is around 3 hours, but you may take 1 or 2 more hours to enjoy your snacks and take gorgeous photos.
下車後，您會在左側找到前往大東山的路。 路線的時間約為3小時，但您可能需要1至2個小時的時間來享受您的零食和拍攝美麗的照片。

Ready for the Hong Kong's third highest mountain? 準備好挑戰香港第三高山？

Great ups and downs on the slopes, especially the uphill section, if you started from Pak Kung Au, you will need to go on thousands of stairs. Sunset Peak is about 869 meters sea level, you should be well-prepared before the hike.
山坡上落差大，尤其上山路段，若由伯公坳上山，需行上千級樓梯。海拔高度869米的大東山由地面直上，需要一定的體力和腳力。

Stone-house 石屋

Stone-house on Sunset Peak. There is no much history recorded about these Stone-house, (according to legend,)foreign missionaries built these houses, and they had been on the Peak for 88years!
I cannot imagine how people brings building materials on the 800 meters-high mountain? Really amazing!!
大東山上的石屋群，另外的叫法為爛頭營。石屋有關的歷史所載甚少，相傳是由外籍傳教士所興建，已有近88年歷史。試想想如何把建築材料搬上800米高的山上呢？ 真的太厲害了。

The golden sea : Silvergrass | 絕美黃金海: 芒草

Silvergrass. From the end of October to the beginning of November each year is the highlights of Sunset Peak, many photographers will come up to capture the beautiful scenery.
芒草。每年10月尾至11月頭都是大東山芒草盛放的季節，不少攝影發燒友都會上來捕捉美麗的景色。

You may take another road to leave Sunset Peak. Choose the road on the, follow the instructions of the Phoenix Trail and gradually drop to the South Road at Nanshan Road, and continue along the Phoenix Trail and South Lantau Road to Mui Wo.
近二東山路口處左行，跟鳳凰徑指示逐步下降至南山的嶼南道畢，可續沿鳳凰徑、嶼南道走至梅窩。

Sunset Peak is a good hiking & photography spot in Hong Kong. Apart from taking the silvergrass sea in Autumn, you may also go for the endless sea of clouds in summer!
大東山是香港一個很好的遠足和攝影點。 秋天除了一片芒草黃金海之外，夏天你也可以去看無盡的雲海！
