Then you should try and make time to visit as it's not a bad city and you're not very far away from so many amazing things there. How long is the flight from SA to NZ?

NZ has long been on the bucket list. It's not so much the long flight as the time zone. We shall see how things unfold over the next while....

Well I'll be posting the next 30+ travel blogs on New Zealand and the various places I visited as I did the North and South islands. It really is a beautiful place to be. I could live there for sure, such a friendly place, welcoming people and the scenery in both islands is magical.
When are you planning on moving there? Sorry to hear you've been through troubled times 😔

Seeing your post and reading about Auckland really reminds me just how much I miss this country..
I got to plan a trip back here to visit :)
I know how you feel, it's certainly got a wow factor and is like no other place I've been to! I'll be posting a lot of New Zealand posts in the next few weeks so hope it inspires you to get that flight ticket back!

Did you find out what tree left that smell?
Auckland is apparently a lovely place to visit, from the photo's it looks and sounds pleasant enough.
My husband ventured over a couple of years ago to visit his family living there, enjoyed the visit mentioning how much there is to do in and close to the city. Clean city with large sprawling parks, glad you enjoyed your travels.
I don't know the type of tree but it was a big one right opposite and seemed to drop little orange/brown seeds(?) or leaves which were the culprit. Just don't step on them otherwise they'd stick to you and stink out the vehicle you're in!
Yes we didn't get to spend too long in Auckland as we had to head up north early the next day and with these trips they have a very full itinerary but I explored what I could and it is a pretty cool city... I'm just not a city person. There is a lot to do and Auckland really isn't far away from nature, none of the cities in NZ are really so there's plenty to enjoy!

We get berries that stick, not sure about stink all over the place at this time of year, always have a brush in the car to clean off prior to jumping in.
My husband was blown away with how pretty Auckland is, I personally would prefer to visit the south island if I was traveling that far.
These pictures are just some of the ones I took (and nabbed from online) but there is a pretty cool Street called Queen St (I think) which has all the major shops down there. I'm sure there's a lot more to do but there's a few places to go and things to see.
I'll be getting on to the south Island in 10 travel blogs or so. I'd have to agree that the south Island is certainly more spectacular in terms of mountain scenery but the north still has its wow factors 🙂
