In my last visit to Dubai, I had missed visiting the Dubai frame, which is one of the places to visit in Dubai. Couple of months ago when I visited Dubai, I made it a point to visit this place.
I see that everything in Dubai is grand, extravagant and colorful and larger then life. Sometimes it looks too artificial also, because somethings you just cannot believe the way they have made, specially their building structures. Most of them are iconic structures. You will be in awe when you look at them. In Oman we do not have any buildings more then 10 floors, it is a government rule to not have high structures, so when you go from Muscat to Dubai it is a complete contrast. While in Oman we have more of natural beauty, which I feel is any day better if you have to live in a place against Dubai which is filled up with these high rises and theme parks.
Dubai too has natural beauty of the beaches but here more focus is given on promoting these destinations which generate revenue, since each of them has heavy fees.
If you are travelling here you need to ensure you come with good amount of money and not be too much strict on budget part else it would be disappointing. A lot of places have hidden charges and if you want to visit you do not have a choice but to pay. So I any day prefer Oman to UAE when it comes to living. The standard of living is very high in Dubai so if you do not earn good enough it becomes difficult and there are so many choices that you get spoiled for choices. If your intention is to work and save money in these regions then Oman is more preferred.
When I compare the two, Oman gives a much more homely and warm feeling then Dubai.

This was a trip to the Dubai frame. This looks like a photography frame, hence it is called the Dubai Frame, there are lifts on the 2 sides which takes you up and there is a viewing gallery at the top. It is made in a very strategic manner. In the viewing gallery if you see from one side of the frame you see the Old Dubai City and from the other the New Dubai City which is all the high rise new structures like Burj Khalifa and others.

And this one is the New City view from the top. You will see the contrast between the two. While the old city has all small and traditional structures, the new one is exactly opposite.

The whole structure including the floor is glass made so you can have a look from all the sides.
This is from where we are standing the view below. The light here keeps coming and going with your footsteps.
