Travelling solo vs group trips
I recently went travelling on my own and had a few thoughts that occurred to me.
Solo:
- You are independent; you can go wherever you want and at a time that suits you
- You meet new people
- You are driven to step outside your comfort zone
- You can let yourself make mistakes without people dwelling on it and blaming each other
- You are unable to split the costs for accommodation/food/transportation
Group:
- Depending on the size, you would have to liase and make sure everyone knows the plan. Otherwise you spend most of the time waiting on people
- Mostly everyone has a role and can help each other, e.g. carrying luggage or finding places to eat or navigating and researching hotels
- You feel safe and more comfortable
- You can save money by splitting the costs
These are just a few i have written down. I know there are plenty more to consider. If anybody has more to share, please comment :)
