Las tetas de Cayey

If you ever visit Puerto Rico, and you are staying in San Juan, rent a car and drive to Ponce, its in the south part of the Island. The scenery is absolutely spectacular, but when you are approaching the town of Salinas and Cayey, make sure you look to your right, you will see a peculiar pair of mountains that look like a pair of boobs.. lol, im not kidding, in fact the locals call them " Las tetas de Cayey". They are part of "La cordillera central", largest set of mountains and rain forest in Puerto Rico. Their height is 2,762 feet (842 m) above sea level.

There's a puertorrican legend of how these two peeks were created.
Legend has it that an Indian girl and a Spaniard from the area swore perpetual love in the mountains of the Sierra de Cayey. One day the lovers realized that their families planned to separate them, so between shots and arrows, they fled to the mountain, eventually the man got hurt. Together they reached the top of the Sierra where he dies and the Indian woman decides never to separate from her beloved and lies down beside him waiting for her death, over her chest the two mountains eventually rose.
Its a sad story but one of the most beautiful ones I heard when i was a girl.
