In Dubai Downtown you can currently admire the highest building with a height of 828 meters. The Burj Khalifa and Downtown opened in 2010. At that time, the district looked like a ghost town. When I saw this place again after 9 years, it is one of the liveliest parts of Dubai. People and cultures from all countries meet peacefully in this place to enjoy the sunset and the evening mood. The mood is set with a relaxed music that can be heard throughout the area. In the evenings, the largest water games in the world can be enjoyed half-hourly. Of course, the largest water feature in the world includes the world's largest shopping center. At every point in Dubai new superlatives can be found. Of course, the Apple Store has the best location in the mall: overlooking the water features and on the Burj Khalifa. So an overpriced iPhone buys much easier. A walk over the entire square gives you a better impression of the district. Next to the tallest building in the world, new skyscrapers are being built in two by twelve hour shifts. Most of the workers are from India and other developing countries. Something like a health and safety law does not exist. After all, the employees in Dubai earn three times more than at home and the money can be sent home to the family. Of course, there is no shortage of workers and the new buildings can be completed in record time. You can keep what you want from Dubai. Anyone who has been there will be impressed.

In Dubai Downtown kann derzeitig das höchste Gebäude mit einer Höhe von 828 Metern bestaunt werden. Der Burj Khalifa und Downtown wurde im Jahr 2010 eröffnet. Damals wirkte der Stadtteil wie eine Geisterstadt. Als ich diesen Platz nach 9 Jahren wieder erblickte, ist er eine der belebtesten Stadteile Dubais. Menschen und Kulturen aus allen Ländern treffen sich friedlich an diesem Ort um den Sonnenuntergang und die Abendstimmung zu genießen. Die Stimmung wird mit einer entspannten Musik hinterlegt, die im gesamten Gebiet zu hören ist. Abends können zu dem im Halbstundentakt die größten Wasserspiele der Welt genossen werden. Zu den größten Wasserspielen der Welt gehört natürlich auch das größte Einkaufszentrum der Welt. An jedem Punkt in Dubai sind neue Superlative zu finden. Der Apple Store hat in der Mall natürlich die beste Lage: mit Blick auf die Wasserspiele und auf dem Burj Khalifa. So kauft sich ein überteuertes iPhone doch schon viel leichter. Durch einen Spaziergang über den gesamten Platz bekommt man einen besseren Eindruck vom Stadtteil. Neben dem höchsten Gebäude der Welt werden neue Wolkenkratzer in zwei mal zwölf Stunden Schichten gebaut. Arbeiter stammen zudem überwiegend aus Indien und anderen Entwicklungsländern. So etwas wie ein Arbeitsschutzgesetz existiert nicht. Immerhin verdienen die Mitarbeiter in Dubai dreimal mehr als zu Hause und das Geld kann nach Hause zur Familie geschickt werden. Dadurch mangelt es natürlich keineswegs an Arbeitern und die neuen Gebäude können in Rekordzeit fertig gestellt werden. Man kann von Dubai halten was man will. Wer einmal da war wird beeindruckt sein.
