The Big Family Travels.....Copenhagen....Denmark....Our Most Favorite City in The World!!!!!

Copenhagen is without a doubt my most favourite city, I can't quite put my finger on why it's my no.1, it just is, and it always has been since I first came here 8yrs ago.

The great thing about having a nomadic lifestyle is that, although we roughly know in what direction we are heading, it doesn't mean we can't all of a sudden change our mind and go in the completely opposite direction.

After spending a few days in Germany catching up with some friends we had to decide where to go to next, we were not happy because we had to

Make a Run For the Finnish Border so we did a big U-turn, from Sweden-Finland-Germany and then back up to Demark, we did this for many reasons.

  • We love Copenhagen.

  • This is where I would now like to start off the steemit roadshow.

  • Copenhagen is home to Freetown, Christiania.

  • Copenhagen is also home to the best kebab in the world.

For these reasons alone I think you will agree with me that it was worth the 1000km detour?

Let's get this show on the road.

We crossed the bridge from the city campsite (which really is just a car park with a toilet) and jumped on a boat to the nearest Museum as we believe it's important for our home educated children to learn whilst having fun.

Our kids have a great imagination so taken them to a place like this is just going to fuel their powers of invention even more, and plus Mum and Dad get to brush up on their history.

The National Museum Copenhagen.

This place was packed full of gems from every era you could imagine, we were there for hours and still only got to see a fraction of what was on offer before their little legs had given up.

Some old Moose.

Aurochs, which suprissingly only just died out in 17th century.

Viking runestones, which were erected in memory of family members.

This place was MEGA!, the foto's I have shared with you only scratch the surface of what we saw, I truly believe to take it all in you need to spend two days here at least.

The worlds best Kebab.

After all that walking and learning we needed some brain food. We never buy meat anymore and I very rarely eat it because Louise is a vegetarian but it's very hard to resist the temptations of the world best kebab. The Sharwama grill house in central Copenhagen is the creme de la creme of kebab houses, the meat is 100% top notch, the juicy tender lamb just melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more. If you're ever in Copenhagen and you eat meat then TRUST me, get your lips around a shawarma sandwich from this place.

Copenhagen and it's weird and wonderful buildings.

After a meat injection we went to explore some more of this wonderful city. I'm not a big fan of high rise buildings as they tend to be big ugly square things that make cities feel cold and lifeless but the Danish are very good at making big ugly square things look interesting and smart.

This one looked like it needed some support and I knew just the girls for the job as these four have been holding me up for years now ;)

A floating Dream.

This though, has to be Copenhagen's best building. I love having my house on wheels but if I was ever to trade in my tinyhouse truck then it would have to be for something like this.

The Big Family that dares to be different.

As most of you know, we are not your average family, we can't stand walking the straight path that the Swedish government has layed out for us, so you can imagine our delight when we stumbled across this bendy one which was calling us to venture down it. :)

We are not big fans of big cities but I hope that you are starting to understand why we love this one so much, this was just one day in Copenhagen and we still haven't been to Freetown Christiania yet which is my favourite part of this amazing place. I hope you will join us in our next post about Demarks capital city and then after that its the Steemit Roadshow which also starts here :)

Peace and love to the World

Nice trip...

Yes if I lived in Denmark, it should definitely be Copenhagen in the freestate of Christiania, because they make their own regulations. But I've heard that there have been some crack down the recent years, by the technocracy/dictators, hopefully they haven't destroyed it jet. Have a great time, injoy :-)

Thank you @mackjez-santos, we have just got back and it seems on the surface that it hasn't changed one bit :) long live Christiana.

The Vikingship Museum in Roskilde might be a nice place to visit with your kids.

Thanks for the tip @likedeeler :)

What an absolutely wonderful post on your adventure to Copenhagen. And the wonderful story with beautiful pictures made it so captivating. I loved the museum, the buildings, the winding bench, the tiny small house which was adorable, the food description, just everything was so interesting to see and hear about. Your family looks like they are having an absolutely great time. Keep rolling and experiencing and enjoying life to its fullest! :D
