My journey to Moscow Zoo. Part 2.

Moscow zoo I have been able to visit in 2012. This is a very large zoo, where I was. The zoo is located at the metro station Barrikadnaya and Krasnopresnenskaya. Hours 09.00 - 17.00 (ticket office closes at 16:00). I remember it was fun to see all the animals, but it took a few hours and legs were pretty tired, because the zoo area is very large. It is divided into the old and the new zoo. To get to the new zoo had to go through a beautiful, surrounded by rocks, bridge.

In the first partI was said a little bit about the inhabitants of the zoo - birds. Today I want to to tell about this zoo mammals.

Mammals of the Moscow Zoo:

Mountain goat.

This is a rare species of goats. Habitats mountain goats are almost inaccessible to humans. Coat of these goats is very much appreciated for its lightness and thermal insulation properties.

It lives in western North America in the mountains.

Capybara.

Capybara - kind of animal is the only species in the genus, and even in the family, does not apply to protected.

It occurs in temperate and tropical regions of South America.

Giraffe.

Giraffe - the tallest animal mammals. It is a peaceful animal that gets next to a man and a symbol of the African savannah. Outside the giraffe is very original, it is difficult to be confused with some other animals: a small head on a very long neck, long legs and brown spots all over the body.

It lives in Africa. He lives in the savannas and sparse dry forests.

Gnu.

Gnu are very original, is to see them again, it will remember it forever. Even the name is an animal you can learn just as wildebeest tail white.

They live in the central South Africa.

Asian (Indian elephant).

This elephant is the largest land animals of the Asian continent. The closest relative of the Asian elephant - is the African elephant. These two species look similar, but they have differences. In the Asian elephant ears are small, there is only the tusks in males. Unfortunately, Asian elephants are endangered.

Habitat to the Indian subcontinent, Thailand, Indochina, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and the islands of Southeast Asia.

Lowland gorilla.

Poppulyatsii gorillas are drastically reduced due to the destruction of habitat and trapping for illegal trade. This species included in the Red Book.

It lives in Africa - Central African Republic, Nigeria, Congo, Gabon, Guinea.

Grevy's Zebra.

Body proportions among zebras similar to the proportions of the horses, and the tail of a donkey. Zebra wide field of view. They can see almost all of the surrounding area.

Habitat - is open space African savanna.

Camel.

Wild camel - this is a very rare animal, which is listed in the Red Book. Home camel has long been considered an important and very valuable pet in Asia. Firstly it is the best vehicle in the desert. People use milk, meat, hides, wool and camel. From camel wool knitwear made. Camel dung is used as fuel.

It lives in Central Asia, Mongolia and China. In Russia - in Buryatia and Kalmykia.

Dagestan tour.

Dagestan tours - these are large animals. They have good eyesight (notice the danger at a distance) and smell (smell of human recognize a few hundred meters).

Habitat eastern part of the Caucasus mountain range.
