RAISED IN PRE-QIN DYNASTY远古时期

As one of the important cradles of ancient Chinese Agricultural civilization,the human activities in Dezhou can be traced back to the New Stone Age.In the period of ancient Dawenkou Culture and Longshan Culture,there were farming agriculture arising here and Dayu left his footprint for regulating flood.In Xia and Shang Dynasties,Dezhou area was a part of Yanzhou.From Western zhou dynasty to Spring&Atutumn period,the area was ruled by Qi(a country).In the period of the Warring States,it was ruled by Qi and zhao separately.Controlling the shoulder of Qiand the throat to the north of the Yellow River,Dezhou became a fortress for states to ally and a place for Qi and Zhao to fight for.Influenced bythe Yellow River farming culture and the culture of Qilu(ancient Shandong)and Yanzhao(ancient Hebei),the regional culture of Dezhou are quite compatible.

FOUNDATION CREATED IN QIN AND HAN DYNASTIES秦汉文明

The centralized feudal country was established in Qin and Han Dynaties with the feature of unified multi-ethnics.At that time,Dezhou was governed by Pingyuan prefecture of Qingzhou,Jinan prefecture,Qinghe prefecture of Jizhou,Bohai prefecture of Youzhou separately.On this old Yellow River alluvial plain,diligent Dezhou People made great efforts to build their homeland,create art and pass culture down from generation to generation.Therefore,the material civilization and spiritual civilization had been changed greatly.The human's virtues such as intelligence,wisdom,bravery and loyalty were fully presented from Dezhou people.After the rebuilt of the Confucianism by Dong Zhongshu,Confucianism became not only the state ideology of China,buy also the social consciousness of Chinese nationality gradually.

DISTINGUISHED IN WEI AND JIN DYNASTIES魏晋

During wei,jin and Northern&Southern Dynasties,the country experienced continuous wars and frequent-changing regimes,especially in northern China.During Cao and Wei period,Dezhou was separately controlled by Pingyuan Prefecture(state)of Jizhou,Qinghe Prefecture and Laoling state. In the period of Eastern Jin and Sixteen States,it was affiliated to Pingyuan Prefecture(state)of Jizhou,Qinghe Prefecture,Laoling State.LE' an state and jinan Prefecture of Qingzhou.In Northern Dynasy,it was subject to Ande prefecture of Jizhou,Qinghe Prefecture,Pingyuan Prefecture of Qizhou and Laoling Prefecture of Qingzhou.Unique geographical location and rich human resources remained Dezhou the goal that various powers scrambled for in the frequent-changing political times.The times produce their heroes.With the turbulent histor,a number of gentlefolk officials with rich political experience appeared actively on the political arena.

PROSPEROUS IN SUI AND TANG DYNASTIES(隋唐）

The period of Sui and Tang Dynasties were the flourishing period of feudal society.In Sui Dynasty,Dezhou was subject to Pingyuan Prefecture,Bohai Prefecture,Qinghe Prefecture and Qi prefecture separately.In Tang Dynasty,the area was affiliated to Dezhou of Hebei,Beizhou,Cangzhou,Qizhou and Dizhou of Henan.AT that time,Dezhou administered six counties including Ande,Ban, Pingyuan,Changhe,Jiangling and Pingchang which composed the main part of modern Dezhou.Other counties like Wucheng of Beizhou,Xiajin,Laoling of Cangzhou,Yucheng of Qizhou and Linyi were also part of modern Dezhou.With the stability of the national situation and the improvement of the national power,especially the opening of the Grand Canal,the regional superiority of Dezhou became more distinct and the regional economy and culture were expedited 

dramatically.A large numeber of capable offcials and scholars came forward and Dezhou's culture reached the second peak after Western&Eastern Han Dynasties.

GOLDEN AGE IN MING AND QING NODYNASTIES明清

In Ming and Qing Dynasties,Dezhou was not only an important dock of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal,but also an important hub for north-south land communication,Being famous for"A Throughfare Leading to All Neighboring Regions"and "Portal of Beijing",Dezhou had very importantpolical and military position.At that time, as one of the 33 national industrial and commercial cities,Dezhou had developed economy featuring gathered businessmen,thriving transactions and full warehouses.At the same time,a number of literary giants and eminent Confucian scholars like Tian Wen,Lu jianzeng,Lu yinpu,Xie Chonghui,Feng Tingkui,etc emerged.An unprecedented flourishing situation in culture was presented.Dezhou really entered into the brilliant summit in economy and culture.
