I Made It To The White House (EN/DE)

The last couple of days have been so busy and crazy that I had no time to post anything.
I've been traveling and distracted with some news. Let's just say life happened.
But I'm back with new stories and new pictures :D
.
My husband did his bachelor degree last year and this year was his graduation in Maryland.

So I finally got to see Maryland and Washington D.C.!

I've always heard how beautiful it is there and I can only agree with it!
First of all let me say that Washington D.C. is one clean City haha.
Everything looks like it is painted. Just beautiful.

The highlight of Washington D.C. was of course the White House.

I mean, you always see it in TV and news papers and everything important happens there lol.
Oh and let's not forget about all the TV shows and movies with the White House :D
I'm watching Scandal right now and it was just so weird to be in middle of what you always see in your TV show.

But I've to say as much as I liked the city I was just as much disappointed at the White House!

Like I said you see it so often everywhere and you've a picture of it in your head although you've never seen it with your own eyes before.
Doesn't it look massive in TV and on all the pictures?!?
I imagined a huge property. Not only a big house but also everything around it.

But hey it all fits perfectly in my selfie!

I also didn't think that you can actually get that close to the White House!

It's pretty cool! You really get a good view on it!

Of course there's a looot security all around the property.

That's at least something how I imagined it lol.

We also took a walk around the building to see the "backyard" and the famous balcony :D

Walking in Washington DC actually reminded me of Germany a little bit. The trees, the grass, the sidewalk etc.
Or maybe it's just because I lived in the desert for too long :D

We were kind of far away from it but I didn't feel like walking any closer to it.
That's why you've the zoom option on your phone ;)

As you can see it is not that big either. I guess everything looks bigger in TV lol.
But it was a great experience to see it!
And I think I saw Donald Trump waving at me from the window! ;)

Die letzten Tage waren so verrückt und es war so viel los, dass ich keine Zeit hatte, etwas zu posten.
Ich war einiges unterwegs und abgelenkt durch Neuigkeiten. Das Leben haelt einfach immer was bereit fuer dich.
Aber ich bin zurück mit neuen Geschichten und neuen Bildern :D

Mein Mann hat letztes Jahr seinen Bachelor gemacht und dieses Jahr war sein Abschluss in Maryland.

So habe ich endlich Maryland und Washington DC gesehen!

Ich habe schon immer gehört, wie schön es dort ist und ich kann es nur bestaetigen!
Vor allem muss ich sagen, was Washington DC doch fuer eine saubere Stadt ist, haha.
Alles sieht wie gemalt aus. Einfach nur schön.

Der Höhepunkt von Washington D.C. war natürlich das Weiße Haus.

Ich meine, du siehst es immer im Fernsehen und in den Zeitungen und alles, was wichtig ist, passiert dort.
Oh, und nicht zu vergessen, die ganzen Fernsehshows und Filme mit dem Weißen Haus :D
Ich schaue gerade Scandal und es war einfach so komisch, mitten in dem zu sein, was du immer in deiner Serie siehst.

Aber ich muss sagen, so sehr ich auch begeistert war von der Stadt an sich, genauso enttäuscht war ich vom Weissen Haus!

Wie ich schon sagte, du siehst es so oft überall und du hast ein Bild davon in deinem Kopf, obwohl du es noch nie mit deinen eigenen Augen gesehen hast.
Sieht es im Fernsehen und auf allen Bildern nicht massiv aus?!?
Ich stellte mir ein riesiges Grundstück vor. Nicht nur ein großes Haus, sondern auch alles andere drum herum.

Aber hey, alles passt perfekt in mein Selfie! :D

Ausserdem hätte ich auch nicht gedacht, dass man dem Weißen Haus so nahe kommen kann!

Aber es ist ziemlich cool! Du hast wirklich einen guten Blick darauf!

Natürlich gibt es rund um das Anwesen jede Menge Sicherheit und Kontrollen.

Wenigstens eine Sache, die ich mir genau so vorgestellt habe haha.

.

Wir machten auch einen Spaziergang um das Gebäude, um den "Hinterhof" und den berühmten Balkon zu sehen :D

Washington DC hat mich ein bisschen an Deutschland erinnert. Die Bäume, das Gras, der Gehweg usw.
Oder vielleicht habe ich auch nur schon zu lange in der Wüste gelebt :D

Wir waren irgendwie weit weg davon, aber ich hatte keine Lust, näher ran zu laufen.
Deshalb hat man ja die Zoom-Option auf dem Handy ;)

Wie man sieht, ist es auch nicht so groß. Ich schätze, alles sieht größer aus im Fernsehr lol.
Aber es war eine tolle Erfahrung es zu sehen!
Und ich glaube, ich sah wie mir Donald Trump vom Fenster aus zugewunken hat! ;)
