I 💜Corralejo- Exploring the Dunes at Flag Beach 🏖️
Hey guys, I'm back today to share a little more of my trip to Fuerteventura.
In my last post I shared some of the beautiful ocean views that can be found in Corralejo, but that was only from a small area- there are so many stunning beaches to discover as you walk the coastline of this amazing town.
There are many perfect spots to sunbathe or have a picnic, and lots of nice beach bars to enjoy a beverage at while taking in the view and the invigorating ocean air.
There are also many great spots for partaking in sea activities- most popular of these of course being surfing. There are lots of shops and outlets along the coast which provide rental surf boards and wetsuits.
The largest beach in this area is Flag Beach, which is situated parallel to the dunes of Corralejo Natural Park. This is a popular spot for kite flying as the wind is very powerful along this stretch of beach.
As you approach Flag Beach there is a vast expanse of flat ground, which is solid and stone-like. It is quite an incredible sight in the midst of all those sand dunes. It's almost like walking out onto a frozen lake- except it's scorching hot out!
All along the dunes there are little structures of stones positioned in a horseshoe shape, these little dens are perfectly designed to keep the strong winds out, and create an ideal shelter in which to sit and eat or sunbathe.
Be warned however, certain areas of the beach are dominated by naturists, and they are a little territorial- so be careful where you point your camera! 🙈

Seems like such a beautiful island! My parents went there twice and they loved it too. Especially the nice breeze as it was quite hot when they went there. They have a lot of aloe growing there too no? I remember them visiting a farm and bringing me some!
It is really beautiful 💜 And that breeze can be deceptive as you don’t realise how hot it is- I got really sunburnt the first time I went last February! And yes, LOTS of aloe vera, they even sell it in the produce section of the supermarket, it helped a lot on the sunburn- amazing how nature provides antidotes 😊
Lol... aloe is so good indeed. Can't wait till ours are over 3 years so we can start using them.
