Cricket’s Return to Home Grounds After a Decade

Pakistani nation is a very peace loving nation and loves cricket. Cricket unites this nation. After 2009 incident international cricket was banned in Pakistan. After ten years delay finally International cricket is back in Pakistan and see the level of anticipation of people. Pakistan vs Bangladesh first test match is being played in Rawalpindi. I decided to go there and witness this historic moment. A large no people came to see this match but as ticket was short so they were not entertained. Only those people who had match ticket were allowed to see the match. Ticket price was 50 Rs.

After parking my car two Km away from stadium I reached the venue. The stadium security was high alert and they were not allowing to take any charger, hand free etc into stadium. It was my bad luck that I had a USB with me so I had to walk back to put usb in car. After clearing 8, 9 check posts finely I reached stadium.

It was tea time break in match so people were coming outside of stadium and some were just trying to enter.

The stadium was full packed and still people were coming. Over all people were excited and were cheering both teams. I was surprised to see such a huge crowd in a test match. Atmosphere was brilliant and I totally enjoyed the live match. People of all age groups like young to old, women and even small children also came to watch this match.

During tea break some Bangladeshi players were training in net. Different eatable were available in the stadium. I preferred Ice-cream which was quite expensive. Some Tv channel anchor was also taking interviews and comments about match from crowd.

Overall it was a good experience for me as Bangladesh team's six wickets were down so hope tomorrow Pakistan wins this test match. Also hope after seeing this warm welcome other international teams will also consider to come to Pakistan specially Indian team.
