Great article again, personable and filled with a few tidbits of information here and there that are just delectable, the quote demonstrated by your dog, was a major keeper, even if it is only a humorist note. I guess I needed it at that point like a solid funny interjection in the middle of a serious talk. Thanks again, keep your smile and take good care. Namaste :)

Glad it's an enjoyable read. My friends were flabbergasted at one point when they saw me still awake with the laptop in one of those night, with me saying that I'm doing some research on the Freemasons. It's funny that the group is totally off my radar - I guess that's what happens when one reads too much stuff online, becoming desensitized by info. Something to learn :)

I hear you, there are so many avenues to delve into, yet, we have this tendency to become complacent with the information that is fed our way and we don't go out there often enough looking for the different and unknown. The incentive might not be there or maybe we simply are a bit too blasé or over busy with the flow of information we already need to deal with, which is my case at the moment. Luckily, it hasn't always been the case and I have been able to delve into so many different subjects head on and like a mad man. It was really worth the experience in itself. Freemasons and Rosicrucians were on that radar many many years ago as well... Good to read you have delved into it. All for one and one for all!!! Namaste :)

I think my friend here during the trip really brought up a real good point - people network and get-together pretty much for all the same reasons ever since ancient times.. and perhaps improving, following the spirit of the times..

I hear you. Thanks for the reply and namaste :)

My father's a Freemason so I was desensitized from all the conspiracies surrounding it a while back. It's fun theorizing about secret occult stuff and all, but in reality it's just a well-connected fraternity that has less-than-usual practices.

Yeah that's my initial rub after spending a few days digesting the experience. Lol my desensitization comes along with totally shutting off whatever I read about it!

Haha yeah, it's a lot to take in especially with everything published in the interwebs!

"Fraternity" is a nice word for "cult"... I dont agree with frats as well as freemasonry. What do "frats" do beside extort women, drugs, and spend all their daddys money..They do nothing for our society... Accept hurt out culture...Frats are a corruption of youth and a scar on our modern day culture.

I'll reserve my judgement, but I'm not sure about "extort women, drugs, and spend all their daddys money" as part of "fraternity" - Google definition:

  1. a group of people sharing a common profession or interests.
  2. the state or feeling of friendship and mutual support within a group.

Basically friendship, and some friendships do go out of control, which means perhaps there's some very untoward things going on in Freemasonry - in the past, or even the present. So I wouldn't use a blanket statement like that. If anything, it's that the market has spoken, and I'd like to think that everybody has value in society. Well except for violent psychopaths, of course - that's the epitomy of anti-society.

But anyway, you may have better insights that I do not - I'm just writing based on my experience and thoughts about the subject matter..

Just because google says it doesnt mean it is what it is....Google is a search egeine and tends to lack the human element. With that being said that is not a valid argument... Lastly, Im sure the person you spent your vacation with was a good person. Im not saying all masons are evil or bad people, but they most definitely are mislead. I just didnt want people to get the idea that being a Mason is a positive thing thats all. Thanks for the honest reply.

Yup point taken :) I guess the group has its long history afterall, mostly unknown to others. (i think)

I have not been/am not/ will never be in a fraternity so I can't attest to any first-hand experience regarding them, but everything you just said may just be going overboard. I get that those organizations get bad reps, specially with hazing, but I think you're compounding on the negativity by generalizing the slandering accusations.

Sure, there may be some people who are involved in those negative things you mentioned that are also part of their organization, but that doesn't mean that the organization as a whole is involved with it, and much less condones it. To say that a few bad seeds define an entire organization is just wrong, and fosters the wrong message.

Especially for someone whose profile picture is Jesus Christ and posts about the Bible, I would expect you to be more understanding than most. It's pretty shortsighted to equate fraternities with cults, and There's a place for hate-mongering, but I don't think that it's proper to hijack positive posts for that. I'm not condemning you for your actions, I'm just saying, that you can make your own post to air your grievances. Peace be with you, brother :D

My post wasnt really for frats but for free masons (just showing the occult practices through frats is pretty obvious) this could be with all college students not just frats , and as far as being "understanding", I am and you will find that in many of my replies but I would be doing more harm by letting sheep be led astray rather then having them head in the right direction: even if that means by stepping on their toes. They are sheep. So they just dont know any better. Also I do not judge your father, but you should recognize free-masonry goes much deeper then a "frat" maybe for the lower levels it doesnt, but for the higher level it links to satanism.....Its like the root of the tree where then ends of the roots dont even realize the evil they are connected to. I did not mean to offend but just educate the danger of these organizations. I hope this helps and perhaps I was to hostile with my comment, I live and I learn thank you.

Excellent post, Kevin! I have a friend who joined Free Masons a while back and at the time I thought it was so weird (I was still religious back then). Now it doesn't seem all that strange at all.

Community is the answer. Voluntary, supportive, mature adult community.

Is Monty Python actually based on that? Lol

Community is the answer. Voluntary, supportive, mature adult community.

That sums it up pretty well :D

It is very beautiful beach! Thanks for sharing. I'm really happy that you enjoyed your trip in Thailand. You are welcome to Thailand again and again! (I'm Thai. My hometown is in the South of Thailand near Krabi!)

Oh I visit Thailand quite often. Last year I went to Chiang Mai - I think it's one of the best places to visit for Thailand :)

South of Thailand near Krabi.. is it the border between Malaysia and Thailand?

Yes, you are right! Chiang Mai is one of the best places to visit! Phuket is another interesting provinces. I think you visited Phuket already, right?

My hometown is not at the border. It's is just a small province, named Phatthalung.

Hope you plan to visit Thailand again in the very near future! :))

Make me wanna have a vacation now. Weather there is getting better seems like it's a good timing to explore there. Very nice post tho =)

It was sunny the whole day during the last leg of the trip! It's actually quite good over in krabi / phi2 if weather wasn't that bad for us.

Really, what you gonna do there @gladysmak ? Any special plans? :)

seems like we should have nice sunbathing and swim for whole day and just relax. Hong Kong is so cold again and now it's time to get back to the sun and become a tanned girl again. How do you think @jankasparec?

Good read Kevin. Glad you commented on my today's post so I could find such a talented author! Seems like you were in Ko Phangan or Samui last week. I been there (and still am here...) You chose the shittiest weather of the year for your vacation, a talent I share with you :) That freemason dude and how you dig deeper in it, and eventually make him join- pure awesomeness ! Thanks for great efforts you put in this, it stands out ! Cheers

Thanks for the kind words @jankasparec :) Haha i didn't know about the weather, just went with the flow!

It was a nice post. Thank you for sharing @kevinwong

Glad you enjoyed it - thanks :)

Awesome article! My favourite line in your whole piece:
"And people are just people.. with a small chance of psychopathy."
That my friend, is T-shirt material right there! LMAO
It's so true!

Haha good idea.. need to figure out how to get that done :p

Second best line:
"Lightbringer of Cryptocurrencies'
Here's to you @kevinwong! Let your freaky cypto light shine brightly as a beacon so all will know there is a different way. A new way.

Anyone can be a torch bearer ;)

Granted that there are still some major differences between the two societies, this post was both intriguing and self-reflecting. Bravo!

Oh which two societies? Thanks man, appreciate. I was a bit hesitant to post this out at first because I'd so naive. I've been making jokes bout freemasonry, really not knowing they're still alive and kicking today! lol

Between our Steem society and the semi-secret mystical society that is Freemasonry, I mean
Although for some users, there is no difference I suppose =)

Nice article and images, I also went to Phi Phi last year enjoyed a lot , great information you have provided.
Very well composed, enjoyed your article thoroughly.
Have a great day!

Oh did you stay there or is it part of some island-hopping tour?

Thanks for dropping by! :)
