Split is the second largest city in Croatia, with just over 200,000 inhabitants, and is the largest city on the Adriatic coast. Split is busy and big but it remains one of the Adriatic's most vibrant port cities stunningly located between mountains and sea. For a unique European honeymoon destination consider the romantic of split in Croatia. Archaeologists date split to be as ancient as the Greek Empire over two millenniums old. Split's history and ancient architectural aesthetic only adds to the sublime culture it enjoys today. The city boats It's Croatian pride and culture with museums, sports champions and many celebrated Croatian composers.

Although Split has always had a lot to offer to visitors to the town, it started attracting tourists recently. Just about ten years ago, Split was a stop over place for tourists catching ferry to nearby islands more exciting tourist destination. Split was under the rule of many empires, including Roman and Austro-Hungarian. It inevitably reflected on their culture, architecture and mentality. And another information about the city, Games of thrones was captured there. I think Game of thrones fans will definitely have fun in Split.
