My driver took me there. It is in Colombia. He said the stairs were a dilapidated wooden structure when he was a kid and was "scary." Now, it is made of concrete and is no big deal.

It isn't as intimidating when you are looking at it from the parking lot. Once you pay the entrance fee and enter, you go to the base and see how steep the stairs are. One slip and you could be a goner. Not a good idea to tackle this thing while working on a multi-day alcohol binge. Just my opinion.
